Valhalla was the first time in a LONG time that my interest was piqued by an Assassin's Creed game, but when I saw the gameplay, most of that interest diminished. I don't know if I'll ever enjoy that series again. Watch Dogs Legion I want to be good. I want to support that game, weirdly enough mainly because the creative director deserves a win. For anyone who doesn't know, Legion is lead by Clint Hocking, who hasn't been able to get a game out since his last finished title, FAR CRY 2!

Fenix Rising and the PoP remake aren't really clicking for me, no interest. I'll be keeping an eye on watch dogs, may pick it up, I'm renting Valhalla, but FC6 is the only upcoming Ubi game I'm committing to as of now. I hope Toronto improves upon things. FC5 was, to me, a bit of a step backward, so even though I know there are still going to be elements I'm not super enthusiastic about, I hope overall FC6 is a step back in the right direction and that they continue to iterate & improve upon the series.

Situation in game industry today is much more exciting than any game.

    Microsoft went hunting....

    It is hunting for Brands!

Wolfenstein, Dishonored, Tes, Fallout...... Who is supposed to be the next?

Assassin's Creed, Far Cry....??? Tasty things for a big predator. It must be licking its lips.

I think it will be finished with Sony Play Station sooner or later.

    Ubisoft, don't sell yourself!
Hold out until the last bullet!

Don't forget these 3 old sayings - He who pays the piper, calls the tune.

    New lords, new laws.

Bees that have honey in their mouths have stings in their tails.

They will promise a land flowing with milk and honey. They will promise respectation, taking into account your interests, ethics, but later, step by step, will change everything in their own way.
You'll be able to do nothing.
Court, laws will be on their side. Because laws were written by these big predators. To protect their interests first.

All you'll be able to do is to dance to their tune.
You will dance to their tune ..... and Regret!

Ubisoft is massive, fended off a hostile takeover from vivendi a few years ago and wants to remain 3rd party. Also though MS has suggested they may still be seeking further acquisitions I doubt they'd go for even bigger ones than the zenimax deal so I don't think there is anything to worry about with ubi being acquired by them...

Vivendi is a hobo in comparison with these.
    It can absorb only itself.

It is a pup tumbling on the ground.

Bigger predators are running towards Ubisoft.

If not in literal sense ... in the thoughts and plans that's for sure.

Alexander's father once said - "A donkey loaded with gold will take impregnable fortress."

And if they take it.... promissing "no problem with money" and "no need to bother with microtransactions you can concentrate on games"...

Half of Ubisoft will be fired, step by step, because they don't need so many people.
The rest will be working like slaves.
Crunches will be something that should be taken for granted.

They will buy it not because of kind heart - they will buy it to make more money. To squeeze you for profit. To suck your lifeblood.

SWTOR is a great example of a perfect store ... HUGE selection of stuff but nothing gives you an advantage.
What is "good" with this? They limit what you can get ingame to encourage spending money in the cash shop. I'd say that's EXTREMELY BAD!

Btw, you are completely wrong about SWTOR. For instance, you can get this bundle with 30 loot boxes, where the chance of getting superior gear increases for each you open. And it's expensive.

There is no such thing as "good" mtx, the best they can be is tolerable. As long as they don't make the marketplace predatory (having the coolest gear only available through mtx, having the premium currency unattainable in-game etc) then it could be tolerable. They weren't too bad about it with FC5, but I imagine it'll be a slightly less tolerable implementation this go around...

As long as there will be people willing to pay, micto transactions will stay. As it is mentioned here - it is not a problem, if it is an option, not a mandatory factor to be able to play.

dont like microtransactions dont want them. If I already paid for the dam game, that's it. You want microtransactions for Far Cry then make it free
