    The Summit - Targeted loot or not?

    As stated on SoTG The Summit is currently slated to use the targeted loot system.

    My personal opinion on this ABSOLUTELY NOT!

    Weeks could go by without people seeing the targeted loot they want which will completely ruin the new game mode if nobody wants to run it because it's dropping RK or Pistols etc.

    Just make it completely random drops please! If people want to farm something specific, they have the rest of the game to choose from.

    Let the community have something to play that isn't dictated by the targeted loot.


    EDIT: I think a good compromise would be...

    "Remove Brand specific targeted loot from the Summit rotation.

    So at least this way, masks, chest, holster etc and could drop any brand or gearset of that slot etc. Would narrow the pool of targeted loot on the rotation somewhat and be less frustrating than knowing you are going to get 80% loot of a brand you dont want."

    I agree but then again its only a 24hrs reset so not that big of a deal. I'm down with it either way.

    What's the problem? targetted loot DOESN'T replace regular loot, it just makes so there's an extra roll for that kind of loot, you don't lose anything with it

    Uhh, targeted loot does drop in place of non targeted from random enemies. The only time it doesn't replace it is if its a guaranteed targeted drop from a boss or mission completion.

    No it doesn't? can i get a source on that? Look when you kill an enemy, the game throws the dice that says if it drops loot or no and in case of YES it then around doing the RNG thing to say what kind of loot, the targetted loot is nothing more than a second dice but the dice says YES it will drop from a specific loot pool instead. The first dice didn't get deleted, you only threw a secondary bonus dice for free, without it, that random enemy instead would have dropped NOTHING.

    So you can get YES in the first dice and NO on the second and only get one drop, you can get NO on the first and YES on the second and get only the targgeted drop, both with YES and get a random item and targetted drop and lastly both NO and get nothing.

    I am actually hoping there is an option that you and your group could be given some choices just like the directives to choose your targeted loot.

    Maybe have a pool of 5 random options that a person can choose that day. So maybe you could choose between SMG's, Wyvernwear, Shotguns, Alps, or Mods on one day and Providence, Walker, LMG's, Hana-U, and Golan Gear on the next day.

    I wanted to ask about that in the stream, but I was really wanting to listen instead of heckling them.

    Think of how many loot types there are, all the different weapons, Brand gear, gear slot, mods etc. It would take weeks for a linear cycle of it all. A random cycle...could be months between certain targeted loot.

    Just a normal random loot chance would make replaying The Summit better, but that's just my opinion.

    A good alternative would be to let us choose what the targeted loot will be for the day, maybe letting us change it once per daily reset. But I dont think that is something they can program and setup the UI quickly,

    This is my understanding also. Targeted loot is in addition to the loot that would otherwise drop. And as noted, it's on a daily rotation so no biggie - just play some other content if that has what you're looking for.

    lol you want a source? Where is your source that it doesn't and works how you think it is?

    Your example just showed that it replaces the random loot drops.

    Fact is, SOME mission rewards and boss drops have guaranteed targeted loot drops. You can see this on the UI in the game. Loot from random enemies is just that, random, it can drop targeted or non targeted loot. Therefore if it drops targeted, it rellaced what could have been non targeted loot.

    "The new targeted items are then added as drops on top of the regular loot as drops on top of the items you would expect to get out of a mission.

    And no my example just said that you get two dices instead of just one saying that the enemy drops loot or not, how is having an extra free dice worse than just 1 dice?
