    My opinions on Warmonger and the CCU

    Hi there, I'm an assassin main who also plays a couple of other heroes and I've been kinda part of the community since the open beta.

    My opinion to this update is pretty negative. I'm not a fan of the same light attack speeds on everyone, because it doesn't work. If the speeds are the exact same, then everything has to become the same. The damage, the hyper armor that Shugoki has and the enhanced lights that Warmonger has. These stats should all be the same on everyone.

    I'm also not a fan of the small buff/nerf they did to Orochi. Choosing between parrying or dodging and unblockable was already tricky enough as it was. Since the update came this has become even harder to counter and simply feels ****ty and undeserved at times.

    All in all, I am NOT happy with the direction Ubi is going with For Honor. I don't like the stamina changes, the damage changes or the speed changes. I don't like the read focusing they're going for, since this game has and is supposed to always be about reflexes. This made light parries and such way more meaningful considering the stamina punishment/ reward that the player who parried deserved. Now there's just the top heavy most heroes can pull off and that's it.

    Reading sucks to me and reflex focused combat was awesome. In my opinion, the CCU should be reversed because it just felt unneeded and me and my friends already enjoyed the game. Multiple of my friends have permanently lost the will to even play the game after the CCU and after seeing Warmonger.


    Now it's warmongers turn.

    I have trained with her, played against her and bought her. I am not a fan. Her lights feel faster than other heroes's lights, her dmg values are higher than other champions values, her zone is faster than assasin zones even, she has WAAAAAY too many feintables and the bash/claw is also WAAAAY to versatile with the hyper armor in the end part. I don't even have to mention her feats, so I won't.

    All in all with Warmonger, this hero is just overtuned and doesn't feel like she's worth "mastering" since there's nothing to master. The feints are just copies of the cent's and a couple of other heroes. She is basically Appolyon which I ******g love, but her kit is just too simple and still overpowered. Not happy with anything in this update.

    One last mention for my "used to be main" Peacekeeper. She is already in a bad position and was a weaker ****tier version of Shaman, who I refer to as Pk 2.0 and I've started maining right after noticing it. Peacekeeper was made slower this patch and I instantly noticed it. Her lights feel like **** and so does her zone. She was already weak and **** but now she's just become a garbage punching bag, who can't even do that right because she instantly dies to hyper armor heroes, since she still doesn't have a single bash and dies in 3 hits.


    FIX THE GAME'S BALANCE AND TURN IT BACK TO THE VERSION EVERYONE KNOWS AND LOVES.

    Yep CCU was designed to hold warmonger on a pedestal, one of the major sins in a fighting game (No Balance). Been around since day one patch and I would agree this update is cancer.

    I won't talk about her feats. They are obviously broken. I disagree about the hero kit.

    The hero itself is a perfectly designed Vanguard, whose only overpowered things might be numbers (and only some heavy attacks and maybe the wall punish). The kit itself is fair: the unblockable dodge heavy is fairly slow and does not give iframes (lighting her out is fairly easy), the lights are not too fast and just as parriable as most 500ms lights, the heavies are slow and the finisher has a quite late hyperarmor. The claw attacks are nothing more than centurion jab or warden shoulderbash, all gives a free guardbreak. She is obviously a strong hero, but not beyond normal.

    her speed is probably also because of the new CCU ****, but I still find her to be too versatile since she can feint everything. Her side dodge attack, undodgeable top. I can't really think of a hero who can feint their unblockable side dodge.

    The side dodge feint is definitely a move I think is a bit too much. It stinks of Raider's old straight up side dodge GB that people cried until they were blue in the face over. I realize Wu-Lin heroes like Tiandi and JJ can sort of do this as well, but Warmonger's is quicker and more punishing with the unblockable where as Tiandi/JJ's is a slow telegraphed reactable thing. It's the one move in her kit that I think brings her over the top in comparison to others and needs to be gotten rid of considering everything else at her disposal. Her kit is really good but it's still too much of a kitchen sink, for example the bleed being added to a "Vangaurd" kit is so superfluous and obnoxious. "Let's give her an awesome parry punish that can LEDGE people half way across the map, and if it doesn't, then it BLEEDS so a Shaman can just finish 'em anyways." It's like they came up with some of this stuff manic while high on cocaine because it seems so "extra". I think you can take some things away and she still remains higher end A tier for sure.

    And the feats are so OP I will never stop second guessing the dev's intentions or capabilities from here on out. I never thought I'd feel that way about this game, but those feats combined with the botched CCU are solid reasons/evidence to put me into that mindset.

    Ye I also hate her bleed punishment so much. Also when using it myself, it just seems too much.
