There continue to be a couple of topics that invariably generate controversy and result in locked threads:
a) availability of the Eagle Bearer as a Dark Hours raid-exclusive item
b) insufficient reasons for people to enter the Dark Zone
c) the dark zones in Div2 feel empty, despite the smaller maps.
Proposal
Make Eagle Bearer components (see caveats) available as a random drop in a Dark Zone. This will add an incentive to enter the DZ for those who are unable/unwilling to participate in the Dark Hours raid, and give solo players an opportunity to obtain an Eagle Bearer.
The increase in players farming for Eagle Bearer components will also help with keeping the DZ's populated.
Caveats
Obtaining a DZ sourced Eagle Bearer requires extracting multiple components from the DZ. This could be a project like the one for the Dodge City Gunslinger holster. Have the project be available at a reinstated thieves den vendor, and also require a high number of DZ resources to complete. The completed Eagle Bearer also needs to be extracted from the DZ.
To deter professional farmers/boosters, only the person who extracts an Eagle Bearer component gets to keep it. This can be done by applying a "no share" flag to the component. This "no share" limitation already exists with purchased items. The same "no share" limitation should be applied to the extracted Eagle Bearer.
In the event that someone carrying an Eagle Bearer in their contaminated bag is downed in the DZ, the dropped Eagle Bearer can *only* be picked up by the person who dropped it, but remains visible to all players. This introduces the tension of "do I go back and try to recover it".

Either way fair play Op for thinking up something different.
For me it still wouldn't get me to go near the DZ 1700 hours and never entered the DZ's yetand never will and to be Brutally honest don't need or want the Eagle Bearer.
But i'm not adverse for more ways of getting it for those who want it.
PS: to the OP I bet some find the whole idea Salty

So if you extract the components then why do you have to assemble it in dz? Then once you've done the resources and the components you have to extract the gun. Only you can pick it up if killed. So what happens to it if you can't get it. They can't pick it up but they can sit on it and kill you every time you try to get it. Sounds like a fun troll for them and a bad time for you. After all this work and RNG. I get you're trying to make it hard but it seems like it's worse than doing the raid.
I like the idea but its a double edge sword. You add an incentive to go the DZ but you also remove the incentive to do the raid. The thing is that once everyone finished the project eagle bearer, everyone is going to dip out of the DZ. Back being wasted space.Personally, i would rather see eagle bearer as raid quest similar to destiny2's divinity quest. Guaratnee drop.

The DZ needs a complete overhaul in terms of map layout, gameplay loops, more interesting events/activities, better loot, etc. to bring players back. The feedback has been given and we have beaten this dead horse so many times. Poor horse. At this point, its falling through deaf ears. I mean for christ sake, we can't even get one state of the game that discusses the future of the DZ.![]()
Actually it doesn't remove incentives to do the Raid. Those who like to Raid will still be willing to do the Raid. Those who want to DZ, will DZ. It's a matter of given options, instead of forcing player into doing wha they don't want to do. Question then becomes, " what about those that don't Raid or DZ? They aren't being given options, that others feel they deserve."Originally Posted by DeMizeFPS Go to original post
