Yes, keep the 100ms hiding of Indiciator
No, remove the 100ms hiding of Indicator
I'd have to disagree personally. Most of my experience with FH was on console and people could turtle rather effectively there. I've been playing some console again post CCU update and I still support the 100ms changes. Neutral lights are still reactable if someone's just chucking them out instead of just feinting. And chains are properly unreactable now which is great.Originally Posted by garr1999 Go to original post
I will admit the changes make some heros hard to tell what they're doing. But imo it's on so few of them that I don't consider the 100ms changes to impact console negatively in an overall fashion. Do I sympathize with people who don't have a monitor for their tv and a non wired connection available? Yes. However this just is a rehashing of old discussions. There's no doubt the CCU feels absolutely horrible with certain setups.
But the developers can't balance around that anymore than they can balance around connections.
That's as best as I can put it as well. Not how envisioned the perfect For Honor, admittedly the one I would have liked I guess requires a lot of budget to achieve. If everyone that had the need to was ''simply'' reworked to the level of Prior/Centurion/Shaman, who in my opinion were the most balanced heroes in the game, plus all the CCU changes except for the 100ms, it would be the ideal state I would have liked to see. But they chose the cheap and lazy approach - just shave 100ms off of everything.Originally Posted by Velentix Go to original post
The game looks fuсking ugly now. All those smooth animations are gone, literally every non-heavy attack looks janky and just unsightly. Neutral lights sometimes just choose to ignore block/parry. 600ms neutral/500ms chain or neutral bashers are both fully unreactable and unpunishable by heroes without a dodge attack. Everyone is afraid of spam, panic plays are pretty much the norm now, reads take a back seat to what amounts to a torrent of random guessing.
Not my type of gameplay at all, probably why I've barely played the game this month. I guess all good things come to an end eventually. Astrea, at least, is fun.
What is there to address?Originally Posted by Lord.Warden. Go to original post
They gave you frame advantage for light attacks and you can dodge out of light attack combos.
They gave you the tools, now use them.
If you think they will revert the indicators or lessen them then your just kidding yourself in my opinion.
They need to do some animation smoothing on some attacks tho.
That isn't the case with some characters like Warmonger and Shugoki. They have frame advantage always no matter what. We just want our old game that we've been playing for 3 years back.Originally Posted by Gaser. Go to original post
Premise: I voted in favor of removal, but not because I don't like hiding the first 100ms or because I consider it stupid. I voted no because these hidden 100ms had a goal that was not achieved. As mentioned by Knight, it made it difficult to understand the intentions of some heroes and I would add that it made some heroes even more readable. This is because now all players are relying on the animation and no longer on the indicator, which is correct, but the heroes who have two completely different animations for light and heavy are now very easy to read.
I refer mainly to characters such as nobushi, valkyrie, etc ... their animations leave no room for doubt, and their lights are easily parried at a mediocre level. Obviously this is not a problem created by the CCU, however it has accentuated it.
Also, as I've already written in other posts, it didn't solve the latency problem but it helped people with a bad connection or who use the VPN for an advantage even more, it's not much fun. I don't see any problems with light spammers, they're just boring, and with some characters they actually got a little buff. Maybe some light chains should be nerfed (nuxia), the speed to dodge the second light is really absurd.
Maybe it would be enough to reduce it to 50-75 ms (I never understood why they have to move in multiples of 100), and review the animations of some characters (which is why I argued that it would be better to go back to the pre CCU version, a better basis for the changes ).
This is not correct, they don't always have frame advantage.Originally Posted by Lord.Warden. Go to original post
A normal light attack doesn't give WM any frame advantage. She has no light finishers, have finishers obviously give an advantage. The only time she has advantage seemingly out of box is the bash-light, and that is because it is a special attack, not a light finisher. Seems op for the first glance, but other heroes like Warden or Centurion outright follow their chain with the next bash. Black Prior does not, but if he missed, he is not guardbroken. Warlord, I think, works similarly with his own headbutt-light.
Shugoki has no frame advantage. If he hits you with a light and you start to spam light, you hit him before he can light again (might trade though, hyperarmor on light opener was always stupid, that should have been removed ages ago). Of course, since it is a chain starter, not a finisher, you might get smacked by the followup if you do that. I honestly don't know how the succesful hug behaves in regards of frame advantage. You probably think he has advantage because of his stupid hyperarmor lights.

Warmonger as far as I aware has only frame advantage on bash in to lights but she ain’t the only one there.
News Flash: You want get this old game back.
