    Map Editor Inquiry/Request

    Hello,

I am an avid fan of the Far Cry map editor. I have been using it since Far Cry 2. I spend a great deal of time creating intricate, detailed maps with smooth gameplay. I just wanted to make a few recommendations for Far Cry 6:

    1. Have pre-made solo/multiplayer maps that have gameplay that would rival Call of Duty. Additionally, ensure that these maps are artistically spectacular and unique. (I am aware that Ubisoft did this already for Far Cry 5. I am suggesting that they expand and focus on this in Far Cry 6).

    2. I want to suggest the possibility of creating template maps (similar to the wilderness generator) that players can use to quickly make a decent map with smooth gameplay.

    3. Is it possible to sponsor a few players maps prior to the release of the game? If you could find a few players that make spectacular maps based off of Ubisoft's standards, you could use them to do the heavy lifting to create various maps for the players to have quick access to. Hopefully, this would also inspire players to learn how to use the map editor and engage in the map making community.

For reference, please refer to the maps made in Far Cry 5 by DannyPig1 and Rangerfan509. Particularly, please take a look at the following maps:

    "Lanka Island"
    "Tsushima"
    "Hours of Darkness"
    "Eagle Bearer Tribute"
    "Pedazo de cuba"

A few words about general Far Cry World Map.......

"You can see the whole country" - I think it's not good. It's a Spoiler.

It should be something like - "YOU CAN'T SEE THE WHOLE COUNTRY"

"You can zoom it out indefinitely.....but you won't be able to see the whole region.
It's a Secret. It's our present for you!

Like parents make a Christmas gift for their children, trying to surprise a child.
They put it in a box.
The child can't see what's inside.
    It increases his interest, curiousity.

But with "you can see the whole country" developers are making that present box - transparent.

No more secret, no more present!
You can see it in advance.
Mountains, rivers.....You can see its size, its scale.

Yes, everything a bit darker and indistinct but you can see it.

    The intrigue has gone!

    The present was spoiled.

I think we shouldn't see the Map of Far Cry world in advance.
    We shouldn't know its Scale!
    Its mountains and rivers.

It should be under thick clouds.

    TERRA INCOGNITA.

    Clouds, clouds......clouds.

    Who knows what is beneath?!

    Unknown world calling for discovery.

    Nice suggestion.
If i remember correctly, the "Generate map" feature, as been somewhat lacking for new players/creators.
    Some sliders would be nice:

-Land mass to water differential (deserts, to ponds, to lakes)
    -Height differential (flat to cliffs)
    -Amount of rocks/trees/grass/shrub etc

Just to give somebody new, or lazy, an easy start to creating something worth playing.
