Play something else. Seriously. I don't mean that in a smart alek manner.
Find another shooter, even better a looter shooter, and play it. I bet you money that you won't play it for long before you wish that game was more like this game in more ways than you wish this game was more like that one.
Ok, So I won;t bet money, since I am sure that would be a violation of the board policies. Also, because right now, I have no extra to spare -- given the whole global pandemic thing. and its economic impact.
Yes, there are bugs in this game and the overall quality of the code has been deteriorating for a long time -- so bad that as an IT guy (and have been a developer) I would personally be embarrassed if it was my code base. But boy how I love to hate this game.
I'd love to play something else as much -- or more -- than I play this one. But I keep coming back to it.
Let me make one thing extremely and abundantly clear. I do not hate this game.Originally Posted by tcarlisle2012 Go to original post
The Division 2 and the Division 1 are excellent games that have robust gear systems, strong mechanics, well designed and detailed worlds along with a very powerful message about Dark Winter.
I am going to hit the devs hard when it seems they have abandoned this wonderful game and when they at times promote this title as if it was a dead game or they are a dead studio. Promoting Skyscraper a month before it is to be released because you were forced by a Data Mining Incident is not the activity of a living title or a living studio. It seems the devs intended to promote this new introduction of content less than a month before release. No advance notice, nothing. As if the company itself and the title are well...dead. If Massives management doesn't have the will or eventually the resources to support the game, then it will die.
Bruce and a lot of the staff are really trying on this game. I come to the forums and post because I do believe that they read the comments. Still it is hard for his group to compensate when a lot of notice on new content is not provided and some of the content that has been allowed to become niche(like the raid) is barely supported at all in game. It would be nice if there were robust match making options like filters on language.
I understand the desire to keep somethings part of the "mystery" in the game. Still with all the tutorial options that players hate to be bothered with, wouldn't it be nice to have some that players would love to use as a resource. Maybe a page explaining the gear system and the effects of the brand/gear set pieces. Maybe on the 2nd week after the raid release if there was a raid tutorials and tests exercises. I am sure people would have loved those over having to go to youtube and listen to a video strung out to last 10 minutes with the first 2 minutes having the lines "Hey, its your boi ____" "Remember to hit that like and subscribe button, it really does help".
Some people are already talking about a Division 3, but I am concerned that the next installment won't be much and that it may be abandoned entirely.
Thing is, alot of game forums are like this & have the trait. The first game I played online multiplayer on back in the 90's (Descent) had people on the game's small forum like blog page whom posted complaints & hate so much. It baffled me back then & still does now, they will always be around whenever a new game comes out with a dedicated forum website. So yeah, just like one of my ex's friend requests sitting in my inbox on facebook; always there....the key is not engaging on any level.
I have an OD build that can clear challenging and Heroic rather well.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post

Iv'e found the whole build to be a blast . and it melts NPC's in so many ways.
My advice would be to stop thinking like a gamer and start thinking like a businessman. The people that code games, design games and draw games etc etc may well have that gamer inside of them but the people that run these companies do not. For the businessman a game is nothing more than a revenue stream and when it dries up they move on to a new well. Given Ubisoft's latest fiscal reports and last year's blowback against aggressive monetisation, I would not expect a large company to maintain a game simply for goodwill. If they feel that the revenue has dried up in this game they will divert resources elsewhere. This is seemingly what has happened to this game.
Think like a businessman not like a gamer, and you will learn to not attach yourself to any one franchise or to expect more from people who simply see things as a function of profit.
Oh goody. Then "git gud or git out" crowd is here to tell others what to do. As a player who has and does enjoy TD series, wonders why some feel the need to jump on the backs of those who have seen issues with the game? Why is it wrong to have the Devs fix problems?Originally Posted by tcarlisle2012 Go to original post
Sure players can move on. They could also not buy another Ubi/Massive game ever again. This type of game requires players wanting to play the game. Instead of missing the mark, how about get issues fixed. Instead of pushing players away from the game.
Actually, I have had the opposite experience. I have been playing different games and not once can I recall saying "Division did this better".
I leave feedback because I feel Division has potential to be very good.
My faith is rapidly fading though. As Ubisoft releases a battle royale game with heavy micro-transactions.
In my opinion, the video game industry is like choosing between Hitler or Genghis Khan. I'd rather have a Gandhi but that isn't an option apparently.
OD problme is simply being completely useless in group play, no way to sustain ammo, bleed is a useless debuff, it's mandatory to use LMG with the set. It used to be the only good gear set with shotguns now it's the worse. I have been playing with status effect in all kinds of ways since game release, OD set is just a ******g joke from the devsOriginally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
