Man I read some of your posts and I respect your opinion but you are forgetting that more than half of the player base plays on console. You say devs don't mind them, I say they're gonna regret this choice, time will see.Originally Posted by Gaser. Go to original post
You talk about staring contest game before the ccu so I wonder if you really played this game much to know how it really works. Heroes that can win by simply stay still and react are the same that needs a nerf (just as they did with LB: with the uninterruptible bash if you attacked him and make a mistake you got punished hard if your hero had no uninterruptibles) otherwise stay still means death. The staring fight is just the initial one, the second before the first attack and it's great, like a real fight should be.
They could have solved this issue in other ways. it's not like mixups didn't exist before.
Muscle memory isn't gonna help you react to lights, if you think that you are deluding yourself.
Before CCU you had mixups to open up your opponents defense. Now after CCU you got mixup to continue having the offensive, which in my opinion is a horrible design.
It have reduces the amount individual player playstyle and uniqueness of the different heroes to the minimum, you are either agressive with lots of mixups, or you'll definitely lose.
There is no reason to pick a low health hero over a more health one, you'll just die quicker as you don't have enough damage to make up for the low health.
Before CCU it was: Reads, mixups and reactions to the correct situations = Skill
After CCU it is: Reads, reads and agressive mixup playstyle = skill
There is no place for a defensive playstyle at all anymore. Alienates 50% of the playerbase.
For Honor was one of a kind and now it's not for honor anymore, For Honor got shut down the moment CCU got released. it's a totally new game, made for a different kind of audience. Lets call it, "For Honor: aggressive edition"
Im mostly not talk about starring contests but that the risk before CCU to throw normal attacks (especially Light attacks), was to high.Originally Posted by Red_R0nin Go to original post
Of course heroes that have moves that negates a lot of offensive with no real counter play need to be nerfed (Stuff like back dodge for warden), but this doesn’t really change that the risk was just to high on normal attacks as mentioned before.
About the whole console thing it’s just my realistic view on the thing, they don’t seem to have the time or resources to balance separately.
So I can’t blame them that they discard current console gen in there balance decisions, it’s a console where most people have horrible Input Lag, Overall worse internet and the console itself struggles to even play the game optimally.
I don’t really see how you can hold a grudge against them for balancing after the platform that is overall better.
I’m overall happy with the indicator change, if it will make normal attacks overall better or if it will just be new muscle memory and you get parried all over again is a thing we will have to see.
I’m rather hyped for the upcoming patch that lowers stamina cost on lights again, lowers heavy attack dmg, zone attack dmg and nerf Warmongers corruption a bit.
Don’t mistaken me for looking down on console players tho.
I hope for you guys that at least the next Gen consoles will be able to run the game properly without 30fps and reduced input lag, but current console will remain a lost cause in my opinion that you can’t consider in balance decisions.
c'mon man, seriously? Risk of getting light parried was too high?Originally Posted by Gaser. Go to original post
Just can't agree to you. If it was so people would not complain about light spam for years (aka, literally, they were not able to stop lights).
Spam is as I always like to mention a issue coming from the receiving end and the devs can’t fix that the only way is that the person who gets spammed improves, they gave you the tools to have frame advantage and dodge out of light attack combos more they can’t do in that regard. (Hell you can even Conq zone or do Aramusha full block after the first light)Originally Posted by Red_R0nin Go to original post
Light spam against anyone half decent is a express ticket to the respawn screen.
I wouldn’t consider a risk of 35-40dmg and losing sometimes almost 1/3 of my stamina for 15 dmg a good risk reward ratio. (Especially since 500ms lights where easy parries for most)
That’s why I currently find the addition of the hidden indicators healthy, Lights get parried far less now but are still rather decently blockable, if it gonna stay that way is as mentioned a other thing I’m not sure about.
I think I already mention that it doesn’t really matter, devs only balance after one Platform and that’s Pc.Originally Posted by EliteReaper2118 Go to original post
If ps4 can handle gta 1080p 60fps im sure it can handle for honor with ease... just why dont they try to make for honor at more frames if not 60 then at least 45fps for consoles ... when someone light spams on consoles the indicator barely shows it a some frames are missing from the game you can hardly parry except for heavies
But we on consoles we cant block and it has nothing to do with memory muscles.... there's frames missing literally , they must make a separwte update for consoles only either slow down a bit the light attacks or just increase the frames more for the love of earth GTA 5 is 10x more demanding than for honor and still manages to get almost 60fps at 1080
I wouldnt mind to change my tv resolution to 720p for 60fps ... the devs are either lazy or just hate consoles or something .... cant they make a team dedicate to update specifically the consoles version of for honor ?
Also why can't they just for 1 week make an update and unlock the frames for consoles so we see and then if everyone likes it we keep it if not we go back to normal... can anyone make a petition to For honkr devs for this?
PC and Consoles is not the same and yes PS4 can manage and should be able to get more then 30fps at 1080p if not 720p is fine ...
And also 1 last thing guys...
Could we ask the Devs if they could add another hero ? That would be able to counter light spammers with ease....
I was thinking to have a hero that looks like the Immortals from the movie 300 you know the guys with the silver mask mad face 2 swords and something of the sort...
Neither console can handle For Honor without massive frame drops.Originally Posted by EliteReaper2118 Go to original post
30Fps ain’t even really the issue.
It’s mostly just input lag coming from controller, Tv and all that stuff.
