This whole "I cant parry lights anymore" thing wont be a issue for most people in a few weeks, removing the first 100ms of indicator is a good change but parrying itself needs some changes too.
I have been completely against the 100ms CCU change since day 1 of the patch. Instead of messing with my indicator, give characters viable offense like unblockables, soft feints, hyper armor, undodgables, or bashes. If every character had one or more of those viable offense moves, there will be no complaining about "turtling" as viable offense forces the opponent to do something other than stare you down. You can't change a core mechanic that has always been there since day 1 of the game's release for 3 years and expect people to be okay with this. Nobody wants to play rock paper scissors with the opponent. We want to be able to react and do mix ups, NOT GUESS/PREDICT.

You contradict yourself her for one you want viable offensive but at the other side you want to react to stuff.

These two things don’t mix together there got to be a certain bit of read / predictions in the game (if these would be reactable then they would be useless)

The indicator changes where mostly made to make Light Attacks not getting parried all the time like they did before CCU, even trough they messed that up by listing to light spam complainers and made the risk for throwing one even higher now if you look at the dmg.

If it will make light parry’s less consistent in the long run is a other thing we will have to see.

To keep it simple viable offensive that is fully reactable does not exist and is a fairytale told by a lot of people.

You will have to life with the changes to indicators and that read / prediction based offensive will be more common.

I believe everyone should have the ability to react to neutral attacks. Make a read on viable offense moves. However, the 100ms has made neutral lights a viable offense and it has led to the game being an unpunishable spam fest. Before the 100ms you could easily punish someone who's mindlessly spamming lights. Now it's way harder unless you have a full stance move of some sort. All I'm saying is, get rid of the 100ms and give characters that lack offense more viable offense like they did with Orochi (Top unblockable heavy finishers). Making a read on neutral because of a 100ms hiding of animation is not fun or cool and completely destroys the basic core mechanic that has been in the game for over 3 years.

Blocking Light Attacks is still perfectly fine and doable.

Only parrying got harder, even trough we don’t know if that’s gonna stay like this or just will require new muscle memory.

Also the game does not hide animation, it’s hides the indicator for the mentioned time.

If you got used to the new changes then you still can punish spam quite easily.

It’s mostly now getting used to it.

Freeze made a rather good video about the topic, maybe give it a watch.

Yeah I've watched Freeze's video and I'm telling you that it is not fun to try and "predict" or "make reads" on the opponent's pattern. This simply put is BORING. Many players have explained in this thread and MANY more threads how having to guess where the next attack is coming from has turned the game into a button masher. Look at highlander as one of the best examples, I have literally beaten people with simply spamming his light to light and light to heavy without going into his offensive stance ONCE. It's not because they're bad at the game. It's because the game has shifted into an awful guessing direction that is simply not enjoyable anymore. The developers should simply post a poll in the in game menu and wait a week to truly see the majority's opinion on this. I guarantee you that the majority will want this 100ms change gone because it truly ruins this game for those who want to react and not guess the opponent's moves.

I doubt that they remove the hidden indicatros and reads and prediction is pretty much the thing every fighting games is at least build on to part.

Light spam still aint really a valid tactic, most people just lack a bit of muscle memory and in a few weeks we maybe will be allowed to thorw a light here and there but spam will get beaten by anyone half decent.

This entire thing will boil down to improving and living with it or leaving. Simple.

I by no mean want to insult anyone really here, I’m just giving my opinion and my view that I base on the infos we got and a realistic way of thinking based on how Ubi acted in regards of this game in the last few years.

Who says "just get used to it" and "don't play it if you don't like it"...
First of all as most of us already said you can't change the core combat system without people getting mad.
Secondly the complain here is not about the difficulty of the game but about the fact that's not funny anymore. How can I get used to something like this if I don't play a boring game?
On the "don't play it"...we feel sick about this change just because we used to like it before. This statement is simply offensive.

Really the only real **** up they did was listing to spam complainers which is idiotic because these guys will always complain and the only fix is that they improve and not doing the dmg numbers themselves.

Really, 100ms of hidden indicators ain’t that bad and you can get used to that. (If this on console argument is made then I have to say I simply don’t see it as a valid point, devs said they won’t do separate balance and balancing after a system that barely can run the game optimally is a lost cause to begin with)

Stamina drain multipler was a bad design.

This change was made to make normal attacks less risky but they are by no mean unpunishable and spam still won’t be a valid way of playing against anyone half decent.

The mistakes they made with dmg numbers, stamina cost for lights and warmonger feats are getting fixed soon.

It all boils down to getting used to slightly changed indicators and adjusting muscle memory now.

If you really dislike the game now because of that then it’s better to take your leave because it won’t be changed back and if not, then rise to the challenge.
