I am a solo player 98% of the time and out of the 5 months that I have played this game, I have put in over 1,864 hours and I know that I have minimal interest in running raids. They are just not enjoyable to me.
Knowing that the Eagle Bearer is unobtainable for me, I think there should be another way to get this elusive weapon. I'd recommend being able to complete a legendary solo (but it is not guaranteed, similar to the Big Horn) but I don't see that happening so... options are limited.
Now I'm sure I will receive replies saying thing like:
-"Well than deal with it"
-"That's like paying to win" (even though it is clearly not)
-"Stop being a wuss"
And I could continue on and on and on.
I am just trying to generate some other thought processes and great a discussion (not an argument) and maybe someone at Massive will take an interest.
Lastly, I am not willing to pay $70-$349 for a boosting website, anyone game?
i feel your pain , i would love a regulus to go with my shiled build but RAIDS arent for me too , especialy when you can run it 100 times and still not get it .Originally Posted by PiddyPitbull007 Go to original post
matchmake , its very very easy to matchmake with a group that will carry you through a legendary , i do that all the time (the carrying part) , you dont have to be good , you just have to be cooperative and not f up.Originally Posted by makerofthings Go to original post
on side note the bighorn isnt worth it anyway , you would stash it in a blink of an eye.
youve put that many hours in the game and dont want to raid!? theres no way you just love doing heroics and open world activities. why farm for the best gear only to ignore the hardest PvE content? remember the satisfying feeling of completing your first legendary with 3 random people? well imagine completing a raid with 7 random people. even just completing the first boss of Iron Horse with randoms is quite a great feeling. and you still get a chance at the exclusive bulwark and future backpack/chest just from killing him.
not tryna hate on you, just wondering why you would want to get the best gear just to do regular activities?
Eagle Bearer is really not that great, except maybe if you PvP.
If you like ARs, just use any AR with max Damage Out Of Cover and a talent that suits your playstyle.
For Legendaries, which are easier than the Raids, all you need is a skill build and you can easily make one with 3 piece Hard Wired, then just matchmake into a group.
Same with Big Horn as well. It is not really that great. Both EB and BH have very few cases where they are good. and are mostly just for epeen.
Would you be willing to pay for it twice? Had you chosen to buy it the first time, then when they raised the level cap you lost money. They will likely do that again with both Raid's exclusive weapons. I don't think that it's a sensible choice but it's your money.Originally Posted by PiddyPitbull007 Go to original post
Buying it, I believe is against ToS. Not that Ubi or Massive will do anything about it, even though you basically admitting to be will to buy it. We have had this debate before. You may not have been around for it. I agree there should be options and that they shouldn't be locking loot behind Raids or in the DZ. Ubi and Massive gets their jollies by trying to make part of their playerbase unhappy. Now with talk being stirred up about TD3 being a possibility, maybe they will come up with options knowing they have to keep players interested.Originally Posted by PiddyPitbull007 Go to original post
You're never going to win this argument. There are too many special snowflakes that think exclusive items make "their" way of playing special and unique, without ever considering the health of the rest of the game overall. By getting something other players don't have, it only reinforces their belief that they're special and you're not.
I'm sorry, but this way of splitting the playerbase is one of the stupidest things the Devs could have ever done in this game. Whether it's exclusive DZ drops, or raid-only items, the idea that holding these things hostage is going to somehow magically increase participation is deeply flawed. And even if it works, it's only creating a situation where players are not having fun while doing it. And the second they get the drop, they never return to that game mode.
The entire concept of locking items to specific game-modes needs to be scrapped. Make it more likely to get from some missions, like targeted loot. But stop with the exclusive ********. Let people play how they enjoy, not how the feel coerced to.
Not condoning the idea of someone paying to get one (as stupid as it is), but all L30 exotics can be rerolled (aka "reconfigure") to L40 at the crafting desk.Originally Posted by RichardOshea Go to original post
