Frankly, the Dark Angel - Mind Control combo:
1. ...makes no sense to me.
2. ... is inconsistent with precedent - before, when someone had Mysterion in their own deck and they mind controlled a Mysterion which suddenly died, did they get the copy of Mysterion back?
3. ...is broken and tilt-worthy
4. ...makes me think of quitting the game every time I see it. In fact, every time it happens to me I immediately stop playing even if I haven't yet earned my four-hour pack yet.
5. ...makes me think the devs have lost control of the game.
I know people come here threatening to quit all the time. But I just ... I don't see how this makes any sort of sense. When someone else exploits a game rule which is completely unfair and broken on you, it doesn't make you want to learn that rule, it makes you want to quit the game. And that's the kind of interaction that SPPD has put into their game.
Whoever Dark Angel Red resurrected will stay on her owner’s side as long as that person actually has the character in their deck.
Example: A Mystic/Sci-Fi player Vs an Adventure/Fantasy player. The former Mind Controls the latter’s Mr. Slave Executioner, then uses DAR on the newly acquired character. The newly resurrected character becomes the A/F player’s, but once it dies, the M/SF player can’t use it anymore unless they do the combo again. The A/F player also doesn’t lose MSE because he is still a part of his original owner’s deck.
Since one can only have two main themes in their deck (outside Team Wars), nobody actually gains or loses an extra character in their deck when said character gets revived with DAR. She still has the drawback of not being able to revive anything more expensive than 5 energy or with an indiscriminate immunity. She cannot invoke multiple copies Mysterion or Jesus either.
Speaking of, Mysterion and Jesus also follow the same principle. They return to their original owner’s side on revival because they are still part of that person’s deck. The devs properly accounted for the possibility that a player would try to have more than two main themes/12 cards in their deck outside of Team Wars.
I understand exactly how the interaction works. Did you think I didn't? (edit: when I said "it makes no sense to me" I meant that logically speaking it makes no sense to me that it works that way). It turns out, when you're playing at 7500-8000 level, that level 4 legendaries are so much more powerful than other cards that the other player is likely to have the same legendary in their deck as you. And it's super tilting when it happens and an unfair interaction. I'm simply commenting that an interaction like that is enough to make people want to quit the game. Certainly, I'm much closer to it than I was before - to the point that I have the opportunity to join a new clan right now and am considering not doing it because I'm simply not willing to commit to continuing to play.Originally Posted by GAMEwarriorA113 Go to original post
I'd think the devs would want to know this. And I think that, unlike the "oh I'm so mad that you nerfed my precious card" talk, that this is legitimate. Someone stealing your Medusa Bebe for the cost of a Mecha Timmy which sits in back anyways and a Dark Angel Red is a combo that basically guarantees a win.
Yeah DAR shouldn't be able to make a MC permanent and here's why: you may think of it as a 7 energy play (4MC+3DAR) for control of a 5 cost unit but anybody with a brain is using Mecha Timmy to MC and then DAR. That's 3 cost to steal a 5 cost card that your opponent already paid for, making an often insurmountable energy advantage. Its just plain broken
Not completely disagreeing, but a nerf to a mechanics that takes some effort to be pulled off I don't think is deserved. Combos are what makes the game fun after all. I am more in favour of counters to counters, like including a war cry nullifier ability (which will also provide counters to DAR, Satan, SPB, etc..), or more ways to deal with behind the lines units like SH does quite poorly (te deal with Mecha Timmy, ie). However, in general, DAR is a bit too much value and probably very few would have to disagree if she was made to cost 4, which would also affect this issues with MC without deleting the combo.
Even if, say, i have mysterion in my deck and it just respawned, then my oppenent plays their copy of mysterion which i mind control and play DAR on? Wouldn't that allow 2 copies?Originally Posted by GAMEwarriorA113 Go to original post
Her description clearly states, “with no self-revive”. Ergo, she cannot use her Warcry on Mysterion.Originally Posted by Realllystoned Go to original post
Oh, i never use the card. Your first post was pretty confusing to follow...Originally Posted by GAMEwarriorA113 Go to original post
DAR is overpowered for her energy cost, when both pope and call girl cost double.Originally Posted by AwesomeBasterd Go to original post
