With this version, I think I would really welcome them in the game, and would probably add one or two new mains for my collection. Unfortunately, I do not think they will ever have the resources to pull a new faction out, nothing will guarantee to them it will sell (they made too many stupid decisions in the last few updates for that).

A Nomadic desert-dwelling faction of African/Arab origin would actually breathe new life into this game and probably cause spikes in their revenue.
I think some people underestimate the marketing value of including wider representation of African/Arabian regions in a game of this type.
The story content practically writes itself because battles with the Middle East and North Africa were obviously big parts of The Crusades.

And they won't rework most heroes any time soon either.
