Hi - first off, I'm going to state that I've clocked over 500+ hours on Division 2, and still currently play with a group of players in Iron Horse - I'm an active player that has 4 toons geared multiple sets optimal for raid roles. With that said, I feel the need to state this after playing the game since launch:
It's been about 2 years now, with only two end game raids that were stretched way too far out from one another - I get that the gearing system took 3-4 revamps between stats on gear, and what the set bonuses were etc, but here's from the players perspective... in the 3-4 revamps of the gearing, you did not provide adequate end-game activities for us in regards to replayability; essentially, we got 1-2 four-man missions every few months (a la episodes) and a "expedition" that has 0 replay factor. With each gear revamp, you guys made the playerbase refarm the same content for the min-max gear updates (I say this because if you did not have certain gear roles/gear levels, the raid was not even worth stepping into) instead of giving us fresh content to explore/complete. I'm sorry, but adding 1-2 missions every 3-4 months that can be completed within 20 minutes is not what I, as a PvE player, consider "end game content"
I would like to throw it out there that Division 1 had Underground (which was possibly the best PvE feature you guys created, due to the replayable factor of being random maps, with scaling gear drops/multipliers) - the fact that this mode was not put directly into Division 2 from the start along with Survival Mode is disappointing. Division 2 offers very small replayability right now - you guys essentially made it so that if a player PvEs, that individual does the raid once, gets locked out on the keys (unless they run 5 more times that week to get a second chance at the loot chest) or if they did what I do, and gear 4 toons for the same raid. The fact that there's no matchmaking for the raids other than a Chinese filled Global channel that seems to not be monitored by any admins, is ridiculous at this stage of the game.
If you guys consider adding Underground back into the game, with multipliers for mobs, different mode settings (basically what you guys did for the season based stuff, such as polarity switches, zombies, etc) then the game would have better replayability for the entire playerbase. All you guys need to do is carry assets over from Division 1, and implement to Division 2. All I'm saying.
Thank you for your consideration.
Deathlyhearts - I think you missed my point in the post - I'm saying why weren't Underground and Survival put into the game from the launch date, or atleast before WONY - I agree that Division 2 should have another mode of some type unique to the franchise, but the fact that the game didn't even come with the first Division modes implemented that seemed to work for the long run tells you something about the thought process/marketing of this game.
The fact that this game, being marketed as "more end-game in mind", only has CPs, added 4 man missions, and 2 eight man raids over the course of 2 years is minimal viable product at it's best.
I didn't missed your point. You seem to missed mine. Those mods were never implemented, because the devs didn't want to make just a copy/paste of the first game and Division 2 is a huge improvement with its dynamic Open world and CP. The fact that the game miss more frequent content updates is a short coming indeed, but I am glad they didn't bought those mods back. There is a new game mode that is coming -- if it's going to be any good, that remains to be seen.Originally Posted by Crifology Go to original post
@deathlyhearts I guess we agree to disagree.
Division 1 was a dungeon based (missions) crawler that involved collecting gun and armor loot with mods per slot. PvP of one dark zone with arena based pvp added later, and survival mode. PvE consisted of missions 4 player based, with selected difficulty modes, as well as four incursions (4 man harder content considered to be the "raids" of the game) - outside world map areas consisted of specified "side missions" and static VIP protect, hostage rescue and ambush situations.
Division 2... dungeon based missions with difficulty settings, PvP dark zones (ok, so 3 areas instead of one big one), PVE = 4 man missions, "dynamic" control points (static locations on the map that can be assaulted from time to time by one wave of 4-5 dudes), while "resource and patrols" go from CP to CP (new to franchise)... static positioned propaganda, hostage rescue, supply drops (note, fog of war hides these opposed to division 1, but rest assured, those are the same on every game loadup, and do not change per gameplay)
So to sum up... Division 1 has underground (equivalent to a rift in Diablo, considering this is essentially an open world dungeon crawler), while Division 2 does not have that, but two 8 man raids.
The argument is it's 8 static raid bosses, that took two years to develop, that once you down per week, the "locked" loot cannot be obtained that week on another down (ie chest and bp of future initiative and foundry bulwark) - again, it's the fact that Underground provides randomized maps, with randomized enemies, that the player can choose to beef up (just like the directives in open world right now) but to gain greater rewards.
yes, survival all the Bugs and glitched and Hard-locking encounters!Originally Posted by BT3241 Go to original post
that is the real survival of division 2![]()
Sad to say but it doesn't even come close to the game mode in TD1. There isn't anything special about it other then not to go down, or must say get killed. You can still go down provided you're equipped with the revive hive. You simply play the normal game and with survival you had only one objective, reach the extraction point before time runs out.Originally Posted by BT3241 Go to original post
don't forget that you'd be able to roam the DZ in Survival in order to gain Caches which you could use on your actually character, on D2 Hardcore you'll not be able to gain ANYTHING that you can technicly use unless you're all the way up to LvL 40 being able to safely do Heroic with your gear, and pray to RNGesus to not get 1 shot by "Airburst going out"Originally Posted by echolecter Go to original post
