Can Someone from Ubisoft/Dev team adress the ongoing feedback?
As per the title, this is "suggestion & feedback" forum. And as of that it should be working both ways.
Currently we, the playerbase are getting extremely mixed signals as of current state of the game and community.
Yes, we know the game is "old" and as such is not a main focus of the company per se. But introducing paid season passes/paid DLC we get the hint that it IS worth keeping alive. Thats all for the intro, now for the main part.
We, the players are not "saints" and yes, community may have been harsh sometimes. But the latest patch, namely Warmonger introduction is a pure PvP atrocity. Be it gameplay and mechanics or the lore/vibe itself.
Vibe first, as its the easiest one. This character makes no sense... well... character wise. A warrior dressed in plate, supposedly "warmongering" and commanding a vast army, who's whole idea is to castaway the weak trough war and fighthing.... then why the "Disease" thing? How does this make any sense? Is this some kind of pun aimed at current situation worldwide? If yes, its a bad one. EXTREMELY bad one. If no... then again... how does it make sense? How is spreading disease going to help picking the best warriors? Last time i checked plagues tended to wipe most of the population, fit and strong or not.
So, thats that for the "lore and character motivation part".
As per the mechanics.... oh boy.
It looks like noone had playtested it for more than 1-2 matches... or it was tested but someone pushed it despite all of the issues.
Again, the mechanics are giving us a mixed bag of input. If you want to focus on 4v4 modes... why introducing an anti-team tactics character? And if you would want to focus on 1v1s and duels.... why this feat set? See the problem?
As per the feats itself.... it went full balls to the wall with absurds and bad design. Multiple games oriented around team PvP proven that introducing a champion that heals himself while dealing damage is extremely bad idea for balance and always leads to playerbase backlash. Hell, even items working this way in mobas started to be phased out or reworked multiple times, as those were so OP that playing any other build was basically asking for a loss.
And here we are. Not only Warmonger's feats work as above, they ruin the game for both sides. Yes, i can play Warmonger and end game with 21-0 K/D ratio... but it gives no feeling of power, not to mention "skill". yes "skill" in quotes. Because if im in 1v4, and all i have to do to win or stale out the fight is click one button, its ridiculous.
I pop 4th feat in 1v4. Whats the effect? Either i will keep blocking and enemies will basically die, only because they dared to play the games according to the rules (well, previous rules), or they will have to scatter loosing advantage completely.... where the common sense in here? And thats just if there is 1 warmonger. Also, it has basically no "bad side" or gimmick. You know, Knights catapult CAN wipe the whole team... if they are outside and do not scatter. Same with archers or spears. Fire flask deals huge dmg, but it dmg overtime and can be avoided. The bleeding bomb as well, deals huge dmg, but can avoided. Unblockable strikes can be dodged or paried etc etc.
This has virtually NONE. ZERO. NULL. NADA. All i have to do i press 4, and 90% of times i will win this fight. Sometimes you cant even run away from eachother if you are marked this way. Corridors, narrows spaces, bridges etc. And dont forget, that in 1v4, i will most likely get my revenge at least once. Other 10% of times it is purely my mistake or playing care-free. All i have to do is pop 4, which enemy cannot dodge or avoid, and keep blocking, and watch how fight wins itself for me.
If i play with my friend, and we coordinate to pop 4th feat at the same moment.... we will basically evaporate the whole team, nearly instantly. There is no real counteraction for it. And no, forcing people to switch to healing feats cant be counted as counteraction, as this is a blind-pick kind of game. So now either you pick sustain/healing feats at start, because there WILL BE a warmonger in enemy team or they are going to loose no matter what.
And if we are on feat switching... this i i believe the only character who basically has only one correct "build". Choosing anything else then 4 base feats is simply stupid. Not to mention that the rest of the feats Warmonger has feel like then been tossed in just to fill in the spaces, as you virtually CANT set it otherwise to be useful.
The moveset on the other hand, isnt THAT bad. yes, it would need some tweaks, like slowing down the zone, which is now impossible to react to.
The whole disease mechanic is plainly..... bad. It hasnt been tought trough. Why insta dmg, why 10 dmg per tick minimum? Would you roll it back and re-work it? All it needs from character side is basically changing the feats as you can see.
This and the cut animations, which can be easliy rolled back/changed aswell.
So, can we expect some kind of feedback as a playerbase? Or are we not worthy?
