A few patches ago the notes said they fixed a "stutter" effect, which im assuming was the overlap you would get if you taunted after having the idle effect in, but the change they intended made the effect barely last on your character after taunting now. It's not a super important issue but having them overlap yet last longer was definitely a better feeling than barely seeing the effect after using certain taunts that cancel the effects early. The only change I suggest is either to slightly change the position of the idle and emote effects so that they blend rather than "stutter" when they overlap, or simply revert the change. It's one of my favorite effects.
