This has got to be the absolute worst update ever to be in For Honor.
First of all lets go over the fighting mechanics... light spam is now far worse than ut has ever been in history of For Honor because all lights are now so fast that they are nearly impossible to block what so ever. The light attacks with the new hero seem to be double the speed of orochis original lights... let me tell you that every single game that I get into I go against a full team of light spamming, corruption spamming, wormongers that literally is just them mashing buttons with no strategy what so ever.... light spam is worse than ever and let me tell you that I've been hit by lights iver and over and iver and they lose barely any stamina.... I have been playing for honor since Jorms release and I can tell you that I've always been able to block most light attacks from all characters since the previous update... but now... even in training mode I cannot even react to them at all anymore it almost feels like its going through my guard.. its like you guys have completely taken defense out of the game because you sure as hell can't block these lights and sure as hell cannot parry them unless you predict where its gonna go. You even have to predict just to block this is absolutely ridiculous. There should be a balance of both defense and offense in this game.... it went from somewhat balanced to complete offense and no defense to win. I CANT EVEN FIT EVERYTHING IN THIS THREAD BECAUSE OF HOW BAD THIS IS!!! I have never been so disappointed and so discusted with For Honor ever like this before what an absolute Joke. Shame on you ubisoft.
For Honor has become the unplayable game.
Most of the heroes have suffered absurd Nerf.
For example:
Warden: is totally to be thrown in the trash.
While other heroes have suffered only a slight Nerf.
Hitokiri: attack chains heavy damage as before they did not suffer a Nerf.
Kensei GuardBreak before was 30 dmg but now it damages 37 dmg
Why has the damage increased?
While Highlander GuardBreak only 12 dmg, totally unbalanced game.
The main issues come from the animations skipping, makeing the visual feebacks unclear. On your screen it seems the enemy has lost his momentum in its combo, but suddenly the next attacks pops out with a weird teleportation.
You dont fixe an unintended behavior/bug (super delayed attacks) by making it a default thing. "it's not a bug, it's a feature" as some might say...
Ubi devs have to find a better solution, destroying the great work they did on the animation side by skipping 100 ms of each is not a good move : this is not street fighter, this is for honor which has high standard in terms of animations overall graphic quality, and we like the game because of that. If you remove this, you loose your player base
Agreed. Light spam is even more powerful than it was before. Even Highlanders do it now, and their light attacks are really really fast. The update destroyed the main combat styles of every hero (Highlander e.g. because he is all about high-damage heavy attacks and the kick-grab mix up. but now they are spamming lights) and made button smashing the only useful "strategy". Also, the new damage values are bad, they feel completely off because they no longer award players if they managed to make a good prediction and therefore a light-parry or a deflect or a superior block. The damage on the previously mentioned attacks aren't understandable at all, the most annoying one in my opinion is Warden's Crushing counter. IT DEALS ONLY 24 DAMAGE! IT WAS 40 and made you feel confident when you managed to do it. But now... what the hell? This is the only move what Warden has over Warmonger, but now it is almost useless and there is no point in going for it anymore I think.
Furthermore, as a Lawbringer main I am even more disappointed because the Core Combat Update made him really bad. He feels weak to me. The top unblockable after a parry only deals 21 damage. When I started to play For Honor it was 40, then they lowered it to 30. Than they also lowered his HP to 140 from 150, but that really high HP made him unique and it was also necessary (in my opinion) because he has no hyper armor (only on the shove... but wait...), although he is a 2 meters tall man in full plate armor. They also took away the 400 ms top lights and now THE HYPER ARMOR ON SHOVE IS ALSO GONE. I don't know what to think or how to feel anymore. I truly love Lawbro, he is the hero who I always wanted to play as, since For Honor came out. I joined to the game not long before Jorm came out (I have 33 reps with Lawbringer) and since then Lawbringer only received nerfs!
I really like the game, and respect the devs. I also want the game to succeed, but this update is not the way. If the devs read this I hope they will consider to adjust the DMG numbers manually, take away the 100ms delay (or hidden part) from all attacks and give back the stamina drain on parries (not on blocks, not on misses, but at least on parries). To counter light spam the only thing what is needed is less damage on lights, strong light-parry punishes (Lawbro had that long ago) and no 400 ms lights, but 12 stamina cost for every light is too much, please change that as well, if possible.

This new fighting system is really going in the wrong direction.
I always liked this game as it relies on skill rather than items.
It seems to go the other way now... It is totally wrong to promote new heroes by weakening the old ones.
I wonder if any of the devs has actually played Shinobi recently... complete disgrace.
Deflect for 3x1 bleed bonus and 12 dmg for the light after. If you are lucky then and manage to land somehow second heavy you get... another 3x1 bleed dmg and as a bonus, you also run out of stamina after landing the hardest moves in the game on your opp who has half of his life and full stamina ready for revenge.
Orochi is in the same boat, Aramusha too...
I know... I'll just start playing a warmonger so I can use his fast lights, undodgeable fwd attack or unblockable dodge attacks and warden style openers. He also has Nukes!!! Cooool.
I agree. This is the worst state the game has ever been in. Ive been playing since year one and never and I mean NEVER have i had such a hard time parrying lights. Its guesswork now and that shouldnt be the case. Its completely spam based and no skill at all. Plus the corruption feat is absolute cancer. Ganking is the worst its ever been. Please ubisoft, take back this cancer update and just put the work in for the characters that need love.
