The thing you lads dont realize is that defense was super easy for the last 3 or whatever years.
I can still parry lights on reaction if i guess correctly that the attack is a light its just no longer possible to wait through the animation in order to identify attacks as a heavy/light and still be fast enough to input parry on light timing. Thats the only thing that changed. Maybe git gud?
Attacking was impossible blahblah and so on for such a long time. Every guy who is actually decent at the game already knows everything i can write here and what the response of you people with poor understanding of game mechanics and poor reaction times is going to be.
The balance has always been horrible, assassins and hybrids that arent LB have been largely unplayable for a long time - nothing changed in that regard. Some of the characters of the remaining roster were more or less op over time. Whatever.
Enjoy your free to play forum.- i cant really be arsed since the common decency on this forum is kept at a too low level for me to really tolerate it.
Anyway - i and a lot of other players who are actually good at the game and dont just flex on forums all day are having a blast right now.
Cheers Ubisoft - thanks guys - i did end up buying marching fire as well ^_^
So what you doing here if not flexin on forums?Originally Posted by sakesakesake Go to original post
If You were good player untill now, none of light parries would annoy you.Originally Posted by sakesakesake Go to original post
The bare fact you complain about this, means you didn't know how to deal with turtles.
So I assume ur not as good as you claim to be.
Another thing is that this update didn't fix the issue You described.
The update simply broke the game.
Before the update You were required to skill up and learn to parry, block, deflect quick light attacks.
Then as an attacker You did need to learn how to deal with good players who can do that.. all was just a matter of skill.
There were few characters whose lights were too quick, just needed to fix that and add some stamina cost to the lights (not the double).
But.. lights were well telegraphed before the update.. so learning to react on those was a matter of skill... no matter how quick those were.
Now the telegraph part is gone and You end up with teleport quick attacks that make no sense.
Light spam requires no skill and now it's a huge problem as it became an ultimate way to play.
Mushing left mouse button is not a skill... it's a disaster.
If You support this kind of gameplay You are super low skill player whose abilities limit to randomly spam light attacks.
This update made the game a light spam heaven for players who refuse to learn difficult and complex mechanics of the game.
Getting rid of the telegraphing part of attacks made the defense random.. based on luck and a guessing game.
Do we want paper, rock, scisors kind of game? Rly?
Do You want to make this game like 2d fighting games, where defence is limited to holding one button and guessing?
I refuse to play such game.
If I ever desire to play such game I can install mortal kombat, street fighter or any other shi* of this kind.
This game had a very cool concept for a fighting game.. where defense is as complex as an attack and is equally important and rewarding.
Now they did destroy that concept and made the defense just a guessing game.
GJ ubisoft.
Slowing down lights for assassins, reducing the lights damage and doubling the stamina cost... made assassins kind of worthless.
This update even made deflects worthless.. it's super difficult and risky move.
Why to lower the deflect counter damage to not worthy values, while regular heavies do much more damage?
This is simply ridiculous.
Damage numbers are a mess right now.

You are 100% correct, but all the noobs will scream and shout about how the game is suddenly too hard for them.Originally Posted by sakesakesake Go to original post
If these folks were as good as they claim, then why have they all noticed a spike in difficulty when I haven't? Oh right, cuz they balanced the game and took away their easy to win heroes.
I have been a diamond ranked player for well over a year now and have been playing the game since it launched.
I find light spam much easier to deal with now, and attacking in general feels way more rewarding.
I am parrying lights way more now than before, and am landing way more heavy attacks.
Everything feels more consistent and fair.
Also, just to clarify, my win/loss ratio in say duels, hasnt really changed. What changed is which players I am winning/losing against.
The spammy noobs are being swept away like nothing, and the players beating me are genuinely outperforming me with tricky maneuvers and mind games.
The feint game is back, baby!!
Dunno what you're talking about. If button mashing is beating you now, then you have some practicing to do.Originally Posted by Randomcake94 Go to original post
Personally, I've been having a much easier time countering button mashers as they tend to always go a specific direction. Learn the direction they tend to favor and parry them.
YOU CAN LITERALLY DODGE OUT OF LIGHT SPAM NOW.
If the game suddenly feels harder, it's because the balancing has exposed your true skill level.
There are a few genuine problems with the update that were a lot different from the testing grounds. It isn't simply about skillOriginally Posted by MrBdur Go to original post
True, but it's mostly about skill. I'm loving it because people like yourself have consistently called me all sorts of things, such as a troll, and then told me to go play and see for myself.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
Well I played, and I liked.
Light spam is effectively destroyed.
I never go OOS cuz enemies can't force me OOS anymore, and stam management has always been easy for me.
The damage numbers encourage heavy attacks and I am now getting way more executions.
Yes, more changes are required, such as WM broken feats, but ultimately, the direction the game is going is very good.
Just wait for more updates.
Light spam is not destroyed at all. It is still easily achievable as i have seen watching my low level friend struggle in his games because of it. The only difference is that you have to take a 2 second break before you start your next chain.Originally Posted by MrBdur Go to original post
I disagree with this being a good direction of the game because ultimately this was the biggest spit in the face from Ubisoft in awhile. Asking the community for their opinions so they can outright ignore them and do whatever they want anyways.
