Since Far Cry 6 is going to have a greater emphasis on military and war, they should include an outpost master-like feature that not only lets the player liberate outposts again with varying difficulty, but also include new bonus features that could give the player more tools to play around with.
I remember this being something players wanted to come back in Far Cry 5.
This was one of the good ideas of New Dawn: forcing the player to re-do outposts but with harder enemies (even though the reward in ethanol ended up useless after redoing some outposts since it could not be used for anything else than upgrading the camp).
I d love a simple yet effective way for the enemy to retake outposts or at least try to. Just like we had Survival mode in Primal, I d love a difficulty mode in which enemies take back outposts in a FC4 style (where outposts were under attack after being freed but never taken back even if we did nothing to help). Resources or cash could be used from the game map to prevent such outcomes (giving money another value).
I have very good memories of an old spiderman game in which gangs /police controlled more or less territories around the map, their positions shifting/growing depending on the player actions/inaction. Would love to see something similar.
if they again have enemies try to attack outposts i would hope that unlike far cry 4 it was not always an outpost you were just leaving it was always very annoying to leave an outpost and be half mile away for game to say now that outpost is under attack so you must turn around and return to defend it once i discover that doing nothing did not give enemy outpost back i never went back to defend them
i do like idea that enemy can retake our outposts though i hope that is something that can happen in far cry 6 i would like to play outposts multiple times with the game making it happen in a way that makes sense
Dynamic shifting of control and influence would be very immersive. Enemies trying to take back liberated outposts and bases would be a big improvement over Far Cry 4. In that game, as soon as you leave an outpost after spawning, you are called by a golden path member that they are under attack, yet you can just leave without any consequences.
It'd also be great if there were ways you could upgrade or fortify the outposts so that your allies that occupy them after taking them over have a chance at being more successful at fending off an attack without your help, that way we wouldn't always feel obligated to drop what we're doing to come to it's defense...
Basically Far Cry New Dawn's Prosperity, Far Cry 4's Valley of the Yetis or Far Cry Primal but unscripted and applies to all outposts.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
Primal's customisation of the tribe and huts was the best in my opinion, since it forced the player to gather specific loads of items and was completely optional for most. Yet it lead to new tools and quests so it was a great way to push us to do so.
I really don t know how outposts are gonna look this time but I can assume that Dani's rebels are that well trained or armed and would be easily overrun by Castillo's army. I hated it back in 3 but having really weak ally PNJ was both a right thing and an inconvenience.
Have you ever tried to upgrade your Weapons without Ethanol?Originally Posted by WildCassowary Go to original post
You can do that endlessly.
Where "endlessly" means until the game (New Dawn) gets unplayable because of the Autosave Bug, when you progresses too much.
