    Welcome To The Core Combat Update!




    Warriors,

    The Core Combat Update is now live in For Honor! This update brings more dynamic offense, more consistency, and changes to help counter spammed light attacks. You can find more info in the video below:


    The CCU directly follows from the Testing Grounds changes that many of you tried back in March. You let us know which changes improved the game, and which parts (like damage values) needed more refinement.

    Similarly, we recently held a closed Early Access phase for the Core Combat Update and were informed of potential issues which are scheduled to be fixed shortly after release including:

    • Peacekeeper's Light -> Light chain is now always dodgeable
    • Highlander's Light -> Light chain is now always dodgeable
    • Orochi's Unblockable Top Heavy Finisher now can always feint to Guardbreak and catch back rolls
    • Various damage and stamina changes


    We want to thank all Early Access participants for their detailed feedback, which helped us put these adjustments in place as soon as possible!

    We will keep listening and working on issues that emerge as the entire community gets to play the Core Combat Update! Please write your feedback at our dedicated Reddit thread. Our community team will be hanging out in the thread to see what you think!

    Congratulations - For Honor is finally a really good game

    The recent fight changes addressed the last major concerns i really had.

    I cant believe im actually saying this.. after years and years i feel incentivized to spend money because the game has hit a point where its good. I think i will finally buy bloody marching fire and check out the arcade for the first time now that playing against bots actually helps you practice the same timings that human players have.

    I cant believe I would unironically recommend FH to someone and go: yea for honor is pretty good game you should definitely check it out (id also tell him to play WM because that shiet is op af but hey - its not that important when the game mechanics are actually great and work - seriously).

    I still remember when this game released and i basically just had to hear 1 piece of information - the game is p2p with 4v4 multiplayer - and realize you guys had no idea what you are doing back then and theres 0 reason to buy this. Eventually bought it on a deep sale.

    And here we are. God its been a long hard roard but you made it. Congratulations.

    death of the game on the Consoles

    The gameplay is rubbish on the consoles, it is practically impossible to see any kind of light attack, especially in a chain of blows. It is very annoying that you pair the enemy's blow and do not drain any stamina, this only strengthens the spam !!!!

    This game is awful now its the worst

    I was waiting for this update for a long time but as we can see ubisoft still has the ability to never get anything right this update has ruined the game and I want a refund not just for the money but for the time i have put into the game. Please ubisoft stop making games altogether youre not good at it

    I made an account to just to state this update is god awful.

    changes to feats we didnt get to try..or give input on. (healing from first aid 50%)..no changes to BS feats like Fire bomb dmg

    the new hero is rediculous good and you have yet to fix nobushi

    changes to attack stamina costs which does NOT incentiize agressivenesss yet its part of your plan to nerf light spam dmg and increase heavy damage? you doubled the stamina cost to light attacks and standardizes ALL heroes attack to the same damage. of 140hp + LB is doing the same dmg as a 120 hp PK--on a hero who has the same run speed as unarmored heroes.

    where are the QM changes to balance dominion games? why did you give warmonger AOE t4 life steal abilities in t1 and nerf all heroes feats at the same time? Where is the community involvement? its patch after patch where you dont test changes but just implement them and see what happens.

    Honestly I am disappointed ubisoft. But on serious note here's some what must change. 1ST! You were supposed to nerf light attacks and not make them unreactable. Kensei, Zhanhu, aramusha and gladiator (and maybe some others too) are absolute nightmares to play against. Its like playing with 1000 ms and not seeing the light attacks. Stamina cost on light attacks is equal to heavy attacks. Ehm, why??? You also were supposed to make the game more attacking type of game and not after 3 moves with (example: warmonger) U lose 50% of ur stamina. Basically: light, charge slap feint into GB. gongrats u lost basically 50% of ur stamina now or 60% if u use throw...
    Next the dmg values.... Warden crushing counter 24 dmg and not 40 dmg. If u do this u must give him also crushing counter from sides cuz he can only do it from top atm. Shukogi charged heavy attack does 38 dmg equal to orochi unblockable attack from top. Just... What??? Jormungandr hammer slam: 40 dmg almost equal to orochi's unblockable.

    Now stamina just disappears after few hits / feints and light spam hasn't been fixed, it has gotten even 3x worse. I had no problem against gladiator light spam before the patch. Now its almost impossible to block them even.

    So basically. You didn't remove the light spam. You made it worse and stamina costs doesn't affect it. Especially Gladiator whose stamina pool is insane. Dmg values are just all over the place. Lights before the patch were easier to react to. HL 2nd light is the fastest light in the game now (with that Claymore heavy sword...) I think u also nerfed wrong feats... If I could choose what combat I would use out of old or new. I would choose old one without any kind of hesitation. But also some positivity for your patch is that: feints are more believable which is nice.

    Just fix light attacks ASAP. It doesn't mean two weeks. I mean one week or faster cuz its ruining the game for everyone.

    no lights are fine on pc, on console they are messed up (saw from a friend playing, almost unreactable), damage is a mess, the standardization removed the flavor of any hero specific damage and their uniqueness, if they are gonna standardize this and make this an esport, sure, standardize every moveset, health and everything else, so you create a stale skill only game (which i absolutely am against)
    On pc, combat feels nice but with the new update intended to lower overall damage it feels like i am dying faster than ever in a gank, it might be because i can't parry stuff due to the hidden indicator but seriously, i just hit by a 41 damage heavy from lawbringer, 41 + the stun thingy.... not to mention i saw warmongers dealing damage like 70+ when i they had all sorts of buffs

    The game before felt good and smooth, now it's weird and clunky, the hidden indicator is fine and everything but the damage makes it really really weird.

    If i were to choose a feature from this update (including warmonger) to bring it back to the old game, it'd probably be their "anti-lag" speedup workaround and nothing else, game is currently a mess

    Why does PK have 5 dmg on her dodge attack? It's a heavy dodge attack ubi pls.....

    I didn't follow the devalopment process of this patch at all and updated the game yesterday only to find out that I cant react to light attacks anymore. Neither do my opponents. I spam lights as warden and feel like I`m orochi. People barely can react to my lights now! As warden!!! And then I go to the forums to see what happpened and read about "counter light spam" update. You've got to be kidding, the game has never been spammier with lights attacks, most of my kills are now from light spam, cause people just can't defend against them. And I die mostly from lights too.

    Been playing the game since beta, and yesterday was the first time I had a feeling I might leave the game.
    What a terrible patch, very frustrating!
