Voice Chat is Bugged _same as farcry 5

I've seen enough of the same issues reported for Farcry 5 and I had similar problems but not quite like I'm experiencing in New Dawn.

Playing with a friend in Coop we seem to have to fight to get voice chat working. Either neither of us can hear each other or one of us can hear the other and not the other way around.
Often we end up confirming that the mic is actually coming through by noticing that the persons sound icon is flashing as he is speaking.

When we both bought the game a couple of weeks ago it's just got steadly worse where we end up with a dance of restarting, rebooting , he or I joins or we try invite - all the combinations and finally get it to work.

However, now it seems to be really stuck in one mode where I can hear him and he can't hear me and nothing we do changes it for over a week now.
It's enough to drive yer nuts!!

The moment we go to Division 2 or Ghost recon wildlands or breakpoint - absolutely no problem and never has been. This is nothing to do with settings and Ubisoft support suggestions are no solution to this nightmare.

I really want to get to the bottom of what this problem is and what makes it work when it does and what stops it when it doesn't.
Equipment isn't really an issue here but I use a Soundblaster ZX with it's own mic and my friend uses a Snowball mic usb and onboard sound card. These are not the issue as I say.

What or why is Farcry so different from other games which can produce a stable voice chat environment???

    Hey Louiscarr,

I am sorry to hear that you have encountered these problems.

What troubleshooting have you tried from other support agents?

The only reference to this problem is this : https://support.ubisoft.com/en-gb/Fa...-Far-Cry-5-FC5
and even that references "Far Cry Arcade"!

It has the simplest suggestions of audio settings which make no difference and the troubleshooting link goes to "sound related problems" which don't address that specific issue (eg. assumes no sound through speakers etc.)
Bearing in mind that the best test in my case and those that have this similar problem is process of elimination - ie. If chat works flawlessly in a multitude of other games then it's a problem with Farcry not handling something right.

I have checked the obvious things:
Audio settings - chat volume and threshold, Changing default (although my soundblaster is set to default in windows) from windows to the specific mic and speakers.

As this has worked for sessions before it is curious why it doesn't now. The previous time we had the problem and got it working we actually did some reboot / restarts to get it working then after about 10 minutes one of us went silent. We had to do the dance again and that day it remained on for the whole session.

However now, try as we might we just can't get it to kick in.,

I see, very odd that something that worked previously no longer works.

Do you have a support ticket open or have you tried steps posted by other agents on the forums?

No as I say the suggestions I have seen have been simple irrelevant sound troubleshooting tips. These are useless when faced with the facts - ie. there is nothing wrong with my sound set up or my friends as can be proved with a multitude of other programs with voice chat. Ghost recon wildlands / breakpoint division 1 / division 2. etc.

A support ticket hasn't been raised as I don't really want to go through the mindless troubleshooting steps that which always seek to assume that it's me not them. Most of the time facts / proof and what I actually say are often ignored and each reply is met with a different person who ends up not reading what's been said before. I really can't go through that nightmare frankly.

I just wanted to try to establish what the problem is with Farcry and why so many including myself have this awful problem of fighting with it to get it to work.
Once again if other games work flawlessly it is Farcry not my computer or set up.

    Hey Louiscarr,

    Sorry you feel that way.

If you want this to be looked into further, we would need to perform troubleshooting steps.

I can assure you that we do not seek to blame players for bugs, but we do need to be thorough in our investigations.

I understand that but the ticket system and staff you employ appear to be not so competent nor do they appear to know anything about the game or it's features. They are put there to supply simple troubleshooting steps. I do accept that this is needed however, it rankles when my description of the problem and the logic behind it is simply ignored and then the next person to answer doesn't even read what has happened so far and proceeds to start over again.

I at least expect someone with some kind of sense to understand the problem from the point of logic that I present. ie. if voice chat works flawlessly in Division 2 / Ghost breakpoint / Wildlands etc. then please acknowledge that the problem can't be my sound drivers, microphone, Nvidia drivers or needs reinstallation of [whatever] and to understand that there is a technical problem related to Farcry. Investigation should therefore start with Farcry itself.

Thanks for providing this information, however we would not want to assume the cause of this issue and overlook something which may be a simple fix which is why we request our players work through the basic troubleshooting before going more in depth. Obviously we have all sorts of players with a different level of technical experience and understanding so our aim is to provide a much support as possible to try to get any query resolved.

While I understand you are advising you do not believe this is a problem with your system and do not wish to complete these steps, if you require further assistance I would need to ask you to directly contact us with as much information as possible (system specs / files, any troubleshooting already attempted) and we would be able to get your query escalated for further in depth technical support.

You can find further information on how to submit these files here. Also, please be sure to provide as much detail as possible to reduce the amount of follow up queries we may need to ask.

Seems that it now works after doing a bunch of things however, one thing that is more likely than any other is that I verified the files and it needed repair starting a download that lasted only a few seconds.

After testing extensively throughout today it appears to be working ok
