I was personally very dissapointed when the warmonger was anounced as a genderlocked hero, and while that wound is still fresh, i have taken comfort in the fact that a large portion of the community shares this opinion. As it stands i can not justify spending the money on the new hero, but i think this could be easily rectified, atleast in my own mind.
If an anoucement was made, that promised to release a male warmonger sometime in the future, i think i could happily purchase the new warmonger, as she seems like a very fun hero to play.
Ultimately, i think it would drive sales up for the new hero if the decision to make them genderlock was reversed. And although this could probably not be realistically acheived in the timeframe from now till August 6th. A promise to release a warmonger male after its release would put my dissapointment, and i beleive much of the communitys dissapointment to rest.
Won’t happen to much work to make a new model and change up the armour.
The devs are most likely already busy working on the next hero and other content.
Don’t really know how people can be so blind to not see the gender lock coming when Ubi said: Yeah the new hero is a modernist and playable version of Apollyon.
Pretty sure nearly everyone saw the genderlock coming. That does not somehow magically make it less disapointing.
Made worse by the fact that the harbinger heroes were made with both genders, so ubi has aknowleged that people do not want genderlock, then makes arguably one of the most visually impressive heroes genderlocked.
It honestly feels like a case of one step forward two steps back. For the people excited to play female warmonger, honestly good for you, have fun. But for those who are against the genderlock of warmonger, or even againt genderlock in general. Make your voice heard, and vote with your wallet.
I already told you above that your struggle is futile.Originally Posted by CrimsonFker69 Go to original post
By now they are busy with further working on the second new hero and making new content in general.
They won’t have the time to fix a issue that only a few people have with the hero being female only.
You guys aren’t really a majority, you are a minority.
You guys will change nothing.
Not meant in anyway insulting but that just my realistic view in the whole thing.
Exactly. Gender lock made me lose interest instantly. I can only see myself playing a character that is male. I can't find any immersion in playing as a female, it doesn't tick right and feels unrealistic. I was willing to purchase the character from day 1 but because of gender lock, I won't even bother with it.
If they weren't going to put the effort in to give Warmonger a moveset that wasn't built out of recycled animations, what makes you think they're going to put in the 0.2% effort it would take to slap some male voice lines onto a very slightly altered model in order to not have it genderlocked?
Money. Money talks. I'm willing to pay a little extra cash as long as we get a male model.Originally Posted by Veerdin-Wraith Go to original post
Yea me and a few of my freinds had this discussion last night, came to the exact same conclusion.Originally Posted by Lord.Warden. Go to original post
So long as ubi says they will make a male version. Ill buy it. Even if i have to wait a while for it come out. Ill still buy the bundle right away.
Given Ubisoft's adamant refusal to give male variants to the currently genderlocked classes I very much doubt we'll get a male version of the Warmonger, not because it wouldn't be lucrative (it would) or that it'd be too much work (it wouldn't be, especially considering how much work they skimped on with it already) but simply because they've already decided not to and they're stubborn.
I mean, for years we've been told that Warden couldn't have a full plate armour set because it would have "not worked with the animations" and yet now here we have a character who shares half of Warden's moveset and she's got full plate armour, meanwhile, Warden will proceed to get none, having to make due with whatever that weird lobster-shell abomination thing they've got is. And it took Ubisoft years to give Orochi their "oni" armour set - the one that they literally had in the beta for the game and in plenty of promotional material, after telling us, over and over, that it just "wouldn't work" until suddenly it did.
Mostly I think they won't give us a male Warmonger simply because if they did, then that'd set a precedant and people would start asking for the other genderlocked characters to get alternate varients (something that's been asked for since launch for pretty much every genderlocked character).
If they would do it, then I doubt that it would hit early then around end of 2020.Originally Posted by CrimsonFker69 Go to original post
Just my guess.
