The point is that unless there is some specific lore reason a game like this should never gender lock a character because it removes the players ability to create their own unique hero. It's just a lazy thing to do developmentally.

As far as the animations, again, no two heroes should ever share identical animations. And this particular hero even shares armor.
I don’t really get why people are mad about the gender lock?

It was obvious and you could see it from a mile away.

Don’t really know if there is any lore thing besides maybe the warmonger picking up Apollyons Armor which was a Armor made for a female. (Even trough male Apollyon armour would look really awkward in my opinion)

Well no hero should share animations...

Let me get this straight: They are supposed to make a hero that is based on Apollyon which had the exact same animations as warden for her light, heavys and some other stuff in the story without actually having them making the moves Apollyon does?

Really makes no sense in my opinion, sure the other animations that got reused I can accept but flaming them for using some of wardens animations just does not make sense to me.

The new hero isn't a new hero. It's Apollyon in every sense but name. And the whole stage was set for this. They were not lazy. They didn't suddenly go back on their words. And to be totally honest there's a lot represented in the hero that was asked for in some way or another. I understand that not everyone wanted an Apollyon hero. Well guess what? Not every new released hero appeals to everyone.

This is something that they've never done before and i'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt here and think this was a one off. I fully believe the next hero will be original and not made to be after someone in the game. Also people need to stop with the whole Covid thing. Hero development is done over several months. This wasn't a budget cut. This wasn't them not having access to equipment. They fully intended this character to be this way from the get go.

To the players focused on the important part of the warriors den, 7 more days til the core combat update. Here we goooo!!!!
The thing is though it’s not appollyon, it’s a whole new chick name Astrea and there are others like her. They could of did a male counterpart. They even say Appollyon was an idea that can’t die. So you’re telling me Appollyon only inspired women only to be like her and not the men? I’m still going to main her because she’s dope to me but I would still have been more excited for a male counter part. Plus it’s the fact the Ubisoft lied to their community which is triggering because if they lie to us once what else are they going to lie to us about in the future? They can fix this by adding a make warmonger to the game

It's like you read everything I said, took 2 or 3 sentences from it and then made that my entire point in your mind. The problem is Ubisoft making a promise, taking my money, then going back on the promise and keeping my money. You're clearly not disappointed by this decision, but many, many players are.

And besides that, my first and primary point was the frankensteined nature of this hero, stealing aesthetics and animations from other, already made heroes. As to your lore point, this hero is "Astrid" not "Apollyon" and they refer to the "Warmongers" as a group of leaders of their faction. This implies that in order to become a Warmonger you can't be male. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

I'm pretty sure when I paid $40.00 for my Y4 Season Pass it didn't say "1 New Hero and 1 Already Existing Character in the game" (which is by the way gender locked and basically a Warden mixed with a Cent)

People are mad about the gender lock because there's absolutely no reason to do it whatsoever beyond saving yourself time in the development process. This hero is not Apollyon, it is a group of people like Apollyon, making it female exclusive was just lazy. They didn't want to do the model or the voice acting for it, and that's obvious.

And that isn't the reason people are mad anyways, they are mad because Ubisoft said they wouldn't gender lock anymore because 90% of players hate it regardless if it's gender locked male or female, and they did, which is calling "false advertisement".

I'm pretty sure that pass didn't include a hero. No pass includes Monger and the next hero.

They’ve been planning this character for a long time I’m sure, and they re use animations and gender lock when they stated they wouldn’t do it anymore because it takes away from player choice and immersion. But I’m not surprised they’ve been nothing but disappointing I’m done with this trash

where is this seasons pass you keep talking about. 40$? there were only 2 battle passes this year for roughly 10$ each.

There is a reason to genderlock warmonger. Warmonger is apollyons predecessor. If you are gonna make outrageous claims about people hate genderlock either make the percentage accurate or back that up with a link because i easily see half if not more of the people on this forum not sharing that opinion. Gazer, Raime and I all wanted an apollyon character and we already expected it to be gender locked and could not care less. We are already half the people on this thread.

Something a dev says cannot be claimed as false advertisement. Devs constantly change and create, you also probably misinterpreted them saying that their goal was to make more multi gendered heroes but that does not mean it is some sort of promise.
