    We Should Not Tolerate This

I have been an active For Honor player since the game released. I've been there for the ups and downs and always supported the developers because I know a game like this is hard to keep going with such a small community compared to other games. But this Warmonger release is the final straw for me, and it should be for many others, as this was a massive slap in the face to all For Honor fans and players. There are so many reasons here, but let's start with the obvious ones.

The Hero shares multiple animations with other heroes. I don't care if she has her own unique animations, she should never share the exact animations with another hero. This was absurdly lazy. One of the main exciting things about For Honor is new Heroes, and even though the new heroes have been quite simple, they have at least been extremely unique. This Hero is a frankenstein of multiple other Heroes in both animations and armor and was a desperately lazy thing or Ubisoft to do.

She is gender locked. Where do I even begin with this one. I personally don't enjoy playing a female character as much as I do a male character. The reason for this is that I like to be immersed in my character and I don't get immersed playing female. There's absolutely nothing wrong with males playing female characters and vice versa, but in a game like For Honor to strip that choice from players for seemingly no reason? This was just a lazy decision and no the description of the Warmongers doesn't make any sense in any reality whatsoever that it would be a female exclusive group. Add this to the fact that Ubisoft said they would not be doing gender locked characters anymore, and I bought a battle pass knowing that information, that was literally false advertisement as my battle pass was supposed to include 2 (non gender locked) Y4 characters.

It seems obvious this character was made in the desperate times of Covid-19, but the bad thing is Ubisoft didn't just come out and say that. They pretend to us, like we're stupid, that this was their grand design all along despite it meaning they stole animations from other characters, created an uninspired hero with little no individuality of her own, and went back on their word to not gender lock the characters.

For Honor was already a dying game and it definitely makes sense why. This is the kind of behavior gamers should not tolerate or spend their money suppporting.

Well, thanks for the years For Honor.

Even if she is gender locked so what? Its such a trivial thing to complain

Trivial thing? The only factor this game has going for it is a custom hero that you get to design and make your own. If my preference is to play Male, this ruins that unique design. It's such a trivial thing to add a male model and voice, and it should have been done. This is the exact reason Ubisoft said they would stop making gender locked heroes, 90% of players don't like being forced to play one gender or the other. Stop defending this behavior.

@WrathicsWoW I agree 100% with everything you wrote. But sadly, the only thing that we can do is not give them money for this and eventually quit this rather unique game. Also, imagine how warden mains now feel; their entire hero is now useless whith the release of this unrealistic and unbalanced piece of.... ugh...

Thank you, and you're absolutely right. Game developers can't take advantage of their customers if we don't buy their products. I personally want a refund for my battle/season pass as it was falsely advertised.

Most of the animations she shares are from warden and if you take a good look at Apollyon and how she fights you will see that her normal light and heavy attacks are from warden.

Im only really bothered by the stance and running attack.

Gender is a thing I don’t really care about. (Even trough I can’t really imagen Apollyons Armor in a dude, looks strange when I think about it)

I think the overall point is that they said they wouldn't be doing gender locks anymore, and had us buy their season pass, and then went back on their word and did a gender locked hero. It's as close to theft as you can get without actually stealing. I know alot of guys who prefer to play female heroes, my Wife actually prefers to play Males. The point is that unless there is some specific lore reason a game like this should never gender lock a character because it removes the players ability to create their own unique hero. It's just a lazy thing to do developmentally.

As far as the animations, again, no two heroes should ever share identical animations. And this particular hero even shares armor.

The new hero is supposed to be apollyon in the flesh, so gender locking seems fine, and shes literally chief warden, and she killed and then stole a lawbringers armor. Everything about this hero makes sense and if thats the reason you gonna quit playing, even though they are fixing many of the games issues at the same time, then good riddance. See ya.

To the players focused on the important part of the warriors den, 7 more days til the core combat update. Here we goooo!!!!
