For those who want land based content

Just a question for those who want the game to have land based content in addition to the ship based.

When you say land based what exactly are you wanting to be added with that?

Obviously the cliche treasure hunting( endless fetch quest) is probably part of it.

    Land exploration

    Of course land based combat

But is there anything unique you want, something that won’t make it a copy paste/ripoff of the dozens of games that already have these things?

The best answer is they want black flag 2.0 but with a lot more focus on ship to ship pvp with pve land ownership. That is best way to explain it.

I’m really concerned that the PVE land aspect will take over the game, as it seems most players will take the easier route which typically PVE anything is.

My only real concern is in regards to the ship combat is the potential for ganking/griefing if they do the open world aspect wrong which would further drive players back to land.

Sorry I did not respond on discord when you pinged next the other day, got overwhelmed with my boys and forget to reply.

Oh don’t worry about not being able to reply man. It’s cool. I some times don’t reply other. Real world happens don’t sweat about it for a second.

.... to address your concern. I agree with you. It is something I am worried about as well. Players will generally pick pve or the easier route then pvp and dealing with combat where you have to be good. I just hope ubi does something- ideally they should provide something like servers for ship only, servers for only pve, and servers that are mixed.

That would be a good way to balance both sides.

Ballon do you tink that Ubi would have the patient and the will to the the 3 servers considering that although it would be the defenitive solution to people who want land or sea or both it would require perhapes years to do with diferent missions in the 3 servers and logic in the story do to the diferent missions

Good question- i think so. Most MMOs do this already. Its not that hard to segment servers. Games like WoW, GW2, Final Fantasy etc, they all do this. Some servers are for just pvp, some are just for pve. So that much i can bet my life on. But with regard to splitting the game by combat style, that is more dicey.

Few games do this, because few games have the support needed to do this, as it requires more server maintenance. But realistically speaking, i do not see it as a impossible task. As they would just release multiple builds of the game- which most developers have thousands of. Due to how many revisions and alterations these types of games have.

And if they dont- i am fairly confident that players may be able to hoast their own servers. Ubisoft has never said its not ok in their policy. So it may be possible since this will be ubisofts real first MMO. As unlike the division 2, this game claims to be fully open to explore

Split servers can be problematic if the population is low or lopsided on a particular server.

I was hoping to hear from our land lubbers ( sorry had too) seeing they seem to want land based content I thought they could elaborate on what they want.

They are afraid. Why I don’t know. I guess people are afraid of talking or debating with me. Or with the community. Your right ruthless, we need their input

Why dont you have a faction base, where teams can hang out and maybe have a trade shop of some sort, but other teams can attack them at "home"
