I’ve been thinking about doing something with SMGs so it’s interesting to see people enjoying the UMP and Vector. Maybe I’ll have to go farming.
The key with SMGs is that that base crit chance is so high, virtually all your gear can be tuned to Crit Damage.

The main weakness of SMGs are their bulley spread and optimal range. The tremendous rate of fire on the vector makes up for bullet spread, and using something like negotiators dilemma can mitigate optimal range with careful play.

It still takes some getting used to, since you generally have to get much closer to enemies than most people probably prefer. But it's a much more mobile style of play if you can master it.

    NLxAROSA...

RPK-74; handles like an AR, hits like an LMG.
VERY interesting. I dig it if the handling is true. Can't wait to try one out.

I'm an Assault Rifle fanatic (but sadly don't have all the exotic AR's yet) so my go-to weapons are the standards...

    1. G-36 (any model) - top notch damage output with zero recoil with outstanding handling and accuracy. 750 RPM.

    2. P4-16 (any model) - top notch damage output with godlike pinpoint accuracy and very little recoil. 750 RPM.

    3. Carbine 7 - my dream Assault Rifle in real life (the Barrett Rec-7) - high rate of fire and very little recoil. 790 RPM.

    4. Police M4 (any model) - knockout rate of fire but a tad wild on the handling and accuracy (in my opinion). 850 RPM.

If I could get a good roll it would be the Pestilence for my EP build. Until then it's the Glory Daze (I think) for a damage build, It's god rolled with 100% stability. Can headshot all day long on console. I am yet to try a headshot build for it.

For skill builds if I am doing a firestarter it's the Pyromaniac for the 25% extra damage to NPCs on fire as the EP passes the status effects around. I am still waiting for the nerf hammer to smash the EP status effects. I have a 12.2 second burn time at 272k burn. It's literally a disco inferno,
    Burn baby burn.

I use the Vile mask with Pestilence and N/Dilemma Gear set/stinger hive/chem fire and perfectly wicked.

I'm expecting the Vile mask to get a hard nerf in TU11.

Infact out of my 6 builds i'm expecting atleast 5 to get nerfed, the sad thing they are hardly Meta builds, but i'm expecting them to get fkd.

    .
Why tho? It's not even really all that good.

I'd be really curious to see a direct comparison of how much damage it's actually inflicting vs a regular brand set piece with skill damage and status effects.

It's a shame because as something becomes fun (skills mainly) they nerf the living hell out of it. The Vile mask with EP is so much fun to use.
I would like to see a nerf to DPS every time a skill build gets nerfed and this may help the DPS red Gods to understand more of what skill builders have to put up with.

50% of your concussion grenade damage and then gets higher damage when you build with status effects on top. It can get powerfully fun.
