    Can't upgrade my specialty??

Hopefully this'll be the last question on this, but I've finally unlocked my Technician specialty, equipped it and did some kills to rack up a few points.

I go back to the WH and I have enough for two weapons upgrades (10 pts) but upgrade is grayed out on every category I highlight. I'm not talking about the red ones with padlocks either, but LMG, rifle, etc. 5 pts per tick but I cannot add to anything.

Is this me doing something stupid again, or is this another bug? Kind of a killer because my previous specialty had all categories maxed out so all my weapons all took a 15% hit moving to a new one, and I want to get it back ASAP.

I will say the mini missile launcher is pretty sweet, but why can't I upgrade?

This may sound odd, but, did you try rebooting the game? Might be a random glitch?

Given how goofy this game is I don't think it sounds odd at all, but just the same, yes, I did try that - twice, and no change.

Two items are selected (yellow), which I believe are by default (Amped talent and missile launcher). I have some points, but cannot add to any weapon category.

Take a screenshot and post it so we know what we're looking at.

Just an FYI, if I remember correctly you can only ever have 3 weapon types with points in them. In other words: You can't max out all weapon types in a single specialization.

Try completely resetting the entire specialization and re-allocating point from there.

Well, assuming by "reset" you meant equip a different specialization and then re-equip Technician, I just tried that. Talk about stupid, goofy bugs: in doing so 6 of my Technician points vanished. Yes, when I re-equipped it it dropped from 10 to 4. WTF?

The basic behavior bug is still present though. Obviously with only 4 points even a minimal weapon upgrade is not available to me, so in the screenshot below I selected the EMP grenade, which only costs 3 points to add. You can see it's selected but Upgrade at bottom is grayed out. Double-clicking makes no difference.

Known bug...anyone? I don't recall some dumb "start up" requirement like x number of points before I can even begin upgrading, but who knows with this game...

i shows on your screenshot that you invested 13 points.
these points are in the amped passive talent that gives you +1 skill tier.
can you hold TAB and respec all points and see what that does?

Yeah, I never spec'd this. I think it was auto (or default) because I just unlocked it yesterday. I had 7 points, did a few activities and got it to 10, so I believe the 13 is spent for you before you even unlock the specialization. (?)

I'll try the TAB re-spec a little later. Thanks!

Well that fixed it, but I lost more points as a result!

Re-specing everything cleared the "Amped" talent (13 points to upgrade) and gave me back 5! So now I have 9!

WTF (again)? This game is stupid-buggy.

At least it appears I can upgrade now, but with only 9 I picked 5% on my LMG and the EMP grenade. Guess I'll have to wait a while to get my extra skill tier back.

Thanks for everyone's help. Anyone know the most time-efficient way to farm those points back?

Look at the daily missions they give you spec points, also just leveling up gives you a point so just go around doing c.p. lvl 4s with directives on if you can for the extra xp.

another super easy way to farm the points is to do the invaded missions at the highest dif you can manage.
then yes, the projects and normal level ups also give you 3 points i think
