    I returned to DC!

I returned to DC! I just finished the expansion.

Now I am on level 40.

Is my item level again 1? Do I have to grind all gear all over again or can I craft gear?

Can I accelerate this by doing heroic missions?

    I am slightly confused.

    Thank you for your help.

All your gear will be Level 40 as there is no gear score anymore. You improve your build by looking for gear with better rolls and/or using the recalibration bench. Playing higher difficulty missions increases the chance that the gear you find will have better rolls (no guarantee though).

However, as you just hit L40, you should play on Hard and Challenging for awhile before attempting Heroic.

The answer is complicated. But basically, you want to find gear that:

    a) has the brand bonuses you want - e.g. LMG users should have one piece of Petrov, SMG users should have one piece of Sokolov etc.

    b) has attribute bars that are as big as possible, on attributes that are useful to you. There's little point in having a big skill haste bar if you're not a heavy user of skills.

For example, the first backpack is more use to me than the second. Not just because the bars are bigger, but also because extra health isn't important.

    c) for weapons, backpacks and chests, has talents that work well together and suits your play style. For example, there's little point in the Vindictive and Wicked talents if you don't have a way of applying status effects.

Yeah changing the gear has me lost. I don't mean I don't understand it. I mean wth? Changing a system in a game that I have spent over a hundred hours in.

While playing right through the expansion I was worried about breaking down certain gear. Like I might have had some kit with a lot of skill power points. However I arrived in New York, and could not longer see my gear score stats. I had no idea that if I went back to DC afterwards, would the old stats be back. Leaving me confused as to what gear I had, and what score it had in DC. Or what gear I could break down.

I find generally that Division 2 has just got too complicated for its own good. A year ago I recommended it with open heart. Now there are far too many gear sets, meaning waiting longer for the one your want to drop. I have no idea what season 2 WONY is about. If it's campaign or just a bounty hunt for particular gear.

TL;DR - Seasons last three months and consist of a series of activities. The manhunt lasts for the entire season, and completing it gives you a new skill variant. If Season 1 is anything to go by, the manhunt will also conclude with a new variation of an existing mission.

Other activities are only available for a limited time. As of today, the Luna league (time trials) and Polarity Switch global event are active. Both are optional. The apparel event is also running where you earn unique apparel keys every four SHD levels.

Don't lose hope! Post WoNY is fun and the hunt for gear is on! After months of gaining new gear, I am finally clearing out level 30 gear from my stash knowing I will never use it again. The recal station/library is a fantastic tool for future gearing - check everything before deconstructing. Before you know it you will have no recollection of why you waited to do the expansion.

dagrommit is right on the money with the Seasons info. Get crackin' on that and start collecting all of the exotics and named items that you can. The world is your oyster, you just have to crack it open!

Thank you both. However if you are like me there is no point hunting down exotic gear, unless there is another expansion. I don't play in the Dark Zone. I never play PvP of any game, because I don't have time for cheaters.

I did read up about WoNY season 2. I saw one webslite that says another gang has stepped in to take over where the last boss left off. It's not quite the case though.

Can I craft new gear? It has been disabled so far. I am slightly confused regarding this restriction.

I can craft gear, but I can't understand why I can't craft gear anywhere near the level of my existing gear. Crafting anything would be a total waste.

Like I have a marksman rifle at about 450K damage. However I can only craft a marksman rifle at about 330K damage.
