With more and more space to cover and ever growing in size open worlds, I guess that there is little time for "original" assets and places in such games. What I mean by that is that eventually every single location becomes a twisted composition of assets you ve seen somewhere else, and not "unique composition". I d love to see trees and forests with a unique look at every corner but it seems like a wish that cannot be fulfilled.

FC Primal had great composition of areas, with redwood forests, desolated rocky plains, bushy cliffs, snowed plateaus, dark bogs or lush swamps. I hope that we can get as much diversity in terms of wild environments but it seems that this game is also going towards more human centered environments like FC5 did. Probably will affect wildlife too.

I'm of 2 minds on FC6 introducing an urban environment. On the one hand, part of what always made FC games unique was their focus on exotic, rural locales, but on the other, an urban environment is a nice way to shake up that expectation. They've already stated that FC6 is the largest map to date, and so it'll be interesting to see how much of that is covered by the capitol city of Esperanza. I'm guessing there will be smaller settlements in the countryside as well. If Esperanza is is going to be really big I'd imagine it'd be somewhere around 1/4 of the map, more or less. That could be interesting. With the rumored jetpacks, navigating the city via the rooftops seems like an effective strategy, though I guess that depends on exactly how they function. I dunno, the city thing has me intrigued, but I definitely want there to still be enough rural elements to the game that they're able to provide plenty of room and variety for all the different biomes that we should see...

I m okay with the City of Esperanza being the "endgame" area like they called it, with the baddest foes around to protect Castillo. Probably tanks and armoured soldiers. I just don t want to see it end like Just Cause in the next iterations.

I ve seen somewhere a guy that was looking for the Castillo's emblem that is a lion. Since I remember that the original rumors talked about zoos and that villains like Min intentionally introduced non local animals to their country, I m not against having rulers of the savannah around. Especially if they work in pairs.

If there are not local animals in the game, something like Zoo or escaped from the Zoo.......I think Gorilla = Must Have.

Gorilla is Might, Gorilla is Power.

    It will decorate the game.

Gorillas are might/power.... but they are actually gentle giants barely known for any human attacks. It s really rare to see gorillas featured as enemies in game (only one I can figure of is the first Tomb Raider that used every single possible animal as a threat). Would be cool to see a 300kg rampaging ape around but I m not betting on this one. I m still thinking that ubisoft has secret plans to bring us back to Africa at some point and use all of its dangerous wildlife (baboons, hyenas, hippos, etc).

If I m betting for unexpected non local animals, I ll go for hippos or big cats/bears. This game needs predators.

There was a real situation when a large number of monkeys were outside the Zoo.

It has happened in Abkhazia, in the Caucasus, during Abkhazian-Georgian war, 1992-1994.

    There is a Sukhum Apery.
Before the war there were about 2000 monkeys there. Various types.
After the war there were only 37 monkeys.
The most part of them escaped from the Apery during the turmoil.

Bloody war was going on in the streets and people just didn't care about monkeys.
Must be some kind heart decided to let them go instead of dying in the cages, or something else....
But the most part of monkeys managed to escape the Apery.

They rushed into the nearby forests.

Many of them are still in the forests.
    Climate is subtropical there.

So, gorillas escaped from the Zoo, is rather realistic.
During unrest and war everything could happen.

    As for "gentle giants"......

    Gorillas can be very aggressive.
    It depends on situation.
Loud noise, explosions, turmoil.....can spark their aggression.

In rage gorilla can turn the car upside down, easily.
    Animal is very strong.

    Gorilla won't spoil Far Cry....

I've been saying wildlife is one of the primary reasons I wanted Far Cry to return to Africa, and gorillas were one of the prime factors in that train of thought. Gorillas would be an awesome animal to have to take down, a fearsome encounter for sure. If we're helping zoos though, I imagine they'd want us to somehow bring these beasts in alive...

I ve been working with big apes in the wild, gorillas and orang outangs. They re far from killing machines, unlike chimpanzees that would rip you apart just because you showed your teeth. Contrary to what some may think, those animals are aggressive between each other but if they hear a car or any motor/mechanic sound, they flee. Just like most animals. Tigers run, wolves run... even crocodiles flee when they hear a motorboat.

On the other way, we could have not realistic behaviours like we had in many Far cry games. But as far as monkeys are concerned, I d rather be scared of baboons than gorillas. Silverbacks are the big ones, and there is one per clan (sometimes 2 if brothers/cousins). Baboons can be up to 150, and are extremely aggressive. Those are rather tall, sharp teeth and agile... have this run around in a building or in the forest and it s easy to feel threatened.

Aaaaaand since macaques (was it langurs in Primal?) were already models for the previous games, it would be an easy move for Ubisoft.

Yes, HorTys, said it good - a fearsome encounter!

WildCassowary, baboons are also fearsome, but baboon is baboon and gorilla is Gorilla.
Visually looks more advantageous for the game.

    People like gorillas.

    Just remember only King Kong!
They make it again and again.

There is something in this creature - something attractive and terrifying at the same time.
And notice, they didn't make it King Baboon!
    It was Gorilla.

I think Far Cry also can use that image .....why not?!

It can be some "on drugs" mission or DLC, or a part of big game.
    People will like it.
King Kong always was and will be attractive.

For instance, "Kong: Skull Island" has Vietnam theme.
"Far Cry: Kong" may have Latin American theme.

What's the point about big apes/gorillas?
One sniper bullet through the head an it falls like a rock - end of story.. how unexciting!

Seriously I hate killing any animals as long as it does not attack hence I always skipped all the animal hunt (maps) in Far Cry
