Why do we have a Crafting Station?

Why do we have a Crafting Station when all you can craft is really crappy gear?

I did a test today on Heroic - I was crafing 100 Alps Holster and NONE was any good

I dont expect good rolls but out of 100 holsters aleast some with desend stats

This is what you normal get from crafting

Yeah iv'e used it a few times and now i just don't bother with it (i personally think it's a wasted opportunity) to make it part viable.

Saying that i crafted am M1A CQB before WoNY and i'm still using it now, haven't found a better rifle for my build (370K at 320 RPM with Rifleman)

I crafted a g-rolled FAMAS 2010 replica with the talent I wanted. However, I regularly attempt to craft items and rarely create a viable piece of gear.

to give the illusion of choice.

--honestly.. i wish the crafting station gave unique gears that only can be made crafted.. and not available anywhere else.
That to me is what would make crafting useful.

    reconfiguring exotics
and allowing us a way to roll for the regular stuff is cool.. but after you have very good rolls on your equipped gear.. the crafting station doesn't offer much more.

Inaya must be bored out of her skull.

It's for those who like to pick up a hammer and then smacks themselves in the face with it repeatedly, hoping for a better result each time they do it. Otherwise, Massive uses it to give false belief that they want all players to feel equal when it comes to their crappy RNG. It also gets rid of extra materials that you loot. Don't want anyone to feel like one of the currencies in the game is useless.

It's true it's just a box for Massive to tick, grinding to get the individual items and then ending up a complete failure. They had said they don't want it to be a substitute for the items you will get from activities (in a poor attempt to keep players engaged into endless playing), but it just ends up a complete waste of time and resources.

However, there is at least one item you can only get from it. I can't remember if there is another one right now, but it is the Vedmedytsya Petrov vest with Perfect Braced. It's very useful with notoriously bad-handling and/or slow-reloading LMGs, like for example the Pestilence. But again, since it can only be crafted, you are limited to what the handicapped RNG of the bench can give you. Congratulations once again, Massive.

Because a game that wants to call itself an RPG has to have a crafting ability. But unfortunately, this one is not well designed and implemented. You can't craft the things you'd really want to -- at least not in the end game. Some sets are missing, weapons missing, etc.

"upgrading" an existing item can actually result in a downgrade.

Worse, is that the crafting station real;ly acts as another way to make the game excessively grindy. I about fell off my chair way back when I realized the Hard Wired set has so many RNG walls. You have to do certain missions a number of times to get the components. You have to do this 4 times if you want to wear enough pieces to get the brand set perks -- and let's be hoinest, that is the only reason you wear one of these green sets. Then you go to the crafting station and craft each piece. But if you get crap rolls, you might have do craft each a number of times.... and of course to have enough components to do that you will have needed to run Grand Washington (and others) probably about 20 times.

    Sorry, but no.

there are a couple of things you can only get from the crafting station , one of them is the LMG named vest if im not mistaken , but the rolls are as poor as with the rest of the gear.

only thing that is useful this days is to reroll the exotics.

Its not even useful for exotics or my luck is just plain bad or worst. Every reroll or upgrade always goes downhill. It should be named downgrade bench!

Why do we have a crafting table? That's easy, to be able to construct the Nemesis.
