I experienced the same thing, only what I bought was the newest helmet (forgot what it's called, the one that looks like a motorcycle helmet and costs 200 ghost coins). The first time around I clicked it, confirmed the purchase, and because the coin was deducted I thought the purchase was done. I went in-game, turned out it wasn't there. I thought it must've been a mistake, so I bought it again (hoping it wouldn't deduct my Ghost Coins since it was already deducted the first time), turned out, my coins were deducted for a second time as if I hadn't purchased it the first time.
Sucks..
They do appear to have problems with even in game purchases in Maria's store. (see thread posts about purchases of the forest pants) I guess we can expect still more ghost coins as a gift for putting up with the lack of QA. I just got 600 for something or other but there really isn't much in their store I'd consider blowing it on. I am tired of buying cosmetics that look like crap because they can't be bothered to pay attention to details. The male version of the punk pants still has a red blotch that should have been fixed the day after it was reported. That is the whole point of this being an online only game from an end user perspective. There simply is no excuse for it taking this long to fix an obvious error on something that has no implications for anything else in game.
