First I do not have FYPass or WONY
I changed specializations from grenade launcher to a TAC Rifle. The points did not carry over & I see no way to upgrade. My gear score went from 513 or so to a 458. I didn't notice & played a challenge stronghold. Got shot up but made it through then noticed the gear change. I switched back to the launcher but my GS remains at 458. I logged out & back in, no change. How do I get back my old score? thought I'd ask here first
Thanks, along that line, I found my answer. Somehow an M9 was in place of the 357. The M9 was a lvl 1. No way I had a lvl 9 in my stash or inventory. I don't think its even possible. It was a glitch or better known as a pita. As a side note the loot from the challenge mission on 458GS was considerably lower than that run on 515 GS. The 515was worthless & the 458 was worser. lol
One question remains - Why was I not able to switch specializations & carry over points or to earn points after the switch?
I have another player using The TAC might be the reason but I am unsure. Understanding this game is 90% of the battle.
Points dont carry over from 1 specialisation to the next. You have to re-earn the points for each and every one.Originally Posted by Rodnaz Go to original post
Just play the game with the new specialisation equiped and you will earn points for it just as you did the first one.
I think invaded missions and maybe bounties and levelling up ( unless they have changed it) give you points.
You probably had the 1st specialisation pistol equiped, so when you swapped you couldnt use it and hadnt put points into the new pistol, so it gave you a level 1 pistol instead (sounds like you didnt have another pistol and you have to have somethig equipped in that slot)
You can switch them up if they're part of a loudout. i do it quite frequently. as i bounce between technician and demolitionist quite a lot depending on who ive matchmade withOriginally Posted by Rodnaz Go to original post
There's 165 points to max out each specialization and those points all have to be earned individually per specialization.
Yes, leveling up still gives you 3 points. I know this for sure because I'm still working on my flamethrower.
Heroic Missions and Level 4 Control Points also give you specialization points.
I swear I've seen some Projects that offer specialization points too but that could just be a perfect storm consisting of a Daily Mission at Heroic difficulty.
