I thought this was going to be fixed a patch or two back. I've just stood toe to toe with a purple enemy on Challenging, me firing Bullet King non-stop at him, and it took a good 5s-7s burst to down him. Then, from out of nowhere, a red enemy appeared in the distance and knocked all my armour and 99% of my health off with a single unaimed shot with a subgun from behind cover.
Do any devs actually play their game? If they do then how the hell can they not see that it's crap like this that ruins the immersion and the fun of the game?
I reallt wish people would provide more context to threads like these.
5-7 seconds with the bullet king using how much weapon damage? What set? What brand bonus?
Your armor got cleaned off. Ok...how much did you have to begin with? How much was left after fighting the purple? Were you using glass canon?

He uses multiple builds, healer, DPS, skill build, armor build, yeah.....The DPS build, sure, sure it kills enemies quicker, but ffs, 1-3 shots and down he goes. 1 shot usually strips all t he armor and half the health, 2 is health gate......
Enemies take like 100-150 rounds and will put us to the health gate inside of 3-5 rounds and down us by 7.
THe power differential between us and the enemies is just ******* ridiculous. Its why I honestly cant stand this game, the combat just feels tedious, time consuming and aggravating. Engage a pack of 5 enemies and trying to down 1 takes so ******* long that the other 4 just rush up to ya, fire a burst and down ya go.
Game is just like Division 1 when it SUCKED. I remember like a month or 2 before patch 1.8 hit, i was fighting Fray, that named Rioter boss near the BoO, and his red bar minions were taking at least 3 magazines each, while putting me to the health gate inside of like 2 hits. It was no joke, like 90 rounds per guy but 2 or 3 for me. Never mind the endless grenade spam.....
The only enemies that should take so many rounds are the heavies or named bosses. If it takes you that many rounds against regular red/purple/elite enemies, either you're using an all blue build or something along those lines. Yes, enemies hit hard, but they're supposed to present a legitimate threat. The game would be boring and dull otherwise.
So why don't we start by you providing sone details of your builds so the community can help set things up better for you. But just from the little detail you've given, I'd guess you're playing on a setting above what your gear and ability warrant. That can be fixed with farming and practice, with maybe some immediate changes to optimize your build.
But to do that we need to know where you're starting from:
Specialization
Weapon
Set?
What talents.
What difficulty.
What brands and red/blue/yellow for each.
