Resources, economy, crafting and perk system

With a very urban setting I suppose hunting should be the less obvious source of income. But if collecting pelts is once again to be a feature(hunting can be really nice), it would be great if there wasn't a maximum ammount for each pelt type that you can carry- but one big storage like from FC3&4, for all collectable loot.

As for generating cash, unlocking weaponry etc, it would be nice if the black market from FC2 returned with these missions to intercept[regime] convoys/transport choppers etc- that best bring weapons from abroad. Since the regime apparently has an iron grasp of the people, earning weapons from smuggling networks should be extremely expensive(with the upside you get to make specific orders). Money rewards for each successful convoy/armory heist is guaranteed(can be a two-stage mission), with a chance of getting a special weapon ordered by one of Castillo's generals- sometimes by having to kill the general and his guard.

Crafting is pretty good as it is really, has evolved through five games after all.

As for experience points and perks- I think I'd prefer the system from FC3&4. Getting stuck on having to use weapons/tricks I like less to get those sweet perk points is a little tedious sometimes.

Well lest we forget, the whole map is not an urban area, Esperanza is just the capitol city on the island of Yara, so I doubt the city is even a quarter of the map. They've already confirmed it's the biggest map yet, so hopefully hunting is still a thing with at least the option to have the skinning animations back.

I'd LOVE for the FC2 style convoy ambush missions to come back. I always enjoy missions where you have an ambush to set up, know the route your enemy will be taking and can choose when & where to spring your traps, typically a lot of fun so I'd like that as well and it'd be a great way to explain how you could get your hands on regular weapons as opposed to only having the makeshift ones.

I'm also with you on returning to the XP based skill progression. I did like the challenges though, and enjoyed that they encouraged players to use weapons they might otherwise not, but I think there's a way to get the best of both worlds. They could have the challenges simply reward larger amounts of XP for completing rather than just unlocking the skill points themselves, that way they still help you get the skills, just maybe not every time...

Yeah and it would wonderful with more of that FC3esque bush lands to return with fc5 level graphics. Would feel weird without the hunting featured into any FC game- with wildlife or at least mutants to shoot.

    Indeed.

And great idea on the xp note, a hybrid between fc4 and 5. I agree that the perk challenges in 5 were actually fun oftentimes.

I hope they expand on the hunting mechanic as well as expand on the old XP mechanic from FC3 and FC4. The perks in FC5 didn't really add anything and focused too much on the guns for hire while making the "perks" really cheap.

Roaming dynamic convoys would be the most welcome. I'd love it if they had a military convey consisting of tanks, APCs, fuel trucks, troop transporters and APCs randomly go back and forth between military bases and attempt to set up bases in peaceful parts of the map. Players could hinder the army from creating bases and outposts by destroying these convoys. Players could unlock a garage at some point and store captured vehicles for players to use later and possibly customize their vehicles depending on how much money or XP they got.

Convoys and ambush are very important.

    Convoys....from weak to "just impossible".

Convoys should carry something valuable. (Better something that can't be bought.)

Convoys with strong air cover.....Dictator can afford it.

Air cover will make convoys a fortress.

    And ambush.

    Different types.

    Ambush on convoys.
    Ambush on group of enemies.
Using the nature of the terrain, specificities of topography.
Trying to place the fighters in the most advantageous position for their type of the weapon.

Had a really good time on all Far Crys since the very first but in terms of progression system, Primal was actually the best in my opinion.

-Main missions unlocking some key skills
    - Sub missions unlocking a set of skill points (those few could not be earned by XP grinding)
-XP system rewarding for exploring, fighting, hunting etc
-Meaningful crafting (lots of ingredients from lots of sources)
    - Specific wildlife and plants to specific biomes scattered around the map(impossible to get most/all upgrades in the first area unlike FC3 and 4).
-Animals and plants seen only by day or night.
    -Improvements of settlements and allies.

FC5's main disappointment for me was its skill points tied to specific actions and loot. I actually ended up playing very differently from previous games and was a bit bored by such choice.

Aside from crafting/hunting/resources managing, I d love to see old items to sell like in 3/4 with lore and humor background all around. Like in many ubisoft games, money quickly becomes useless as I didn't t see much fun in buying all camos for each guns (which I did anyways for all latest installments). I m hoping for interesting stuff to buy, and also a in game notepad with details on world, characters and animals just like 3 and 4 did. Had a good laugh reading Mjn s propaganda or Willis s description of wildlife.

Yeah I really didn't like the skill unlocks being directly linked to the challenges either. I've been saying they should have a hybrid system where you gain skill points through XP, but they could have the challenges in the game still that just reward you with significant amounts of XP rather than the skill points themselves, best of both worlds.

I love the fact that even if I switch between accounts and only come back here each time a FC game is announced, I have the pleasure to cross paths with familiar users like you, HorTys. ^^ Always a pleasure.

But yeah I love the idea of finding something that gives you a specific advantage (like I don t know, a unique small bonus skill) if you go to a specific place. Making the exploration meaningful. Otherwise every single location is more or less the same.

Yeah man, good to see another familiar name! FC5 may not have been my favorite but I'm still a fan of the franchise, so I'm not goin' anywhere, haha.

Yes, I'd love to have more meaningful reasons to just explore the world. Been playing Ghost of Tsushima a lot recently and, imo, that is one of the best games for exploration. Not only are you very much rewarded for exploring with unique items, cosmetics, skills etc, but the way in which they've integrated seamless exploration into simply nav igating the world is great. They use natu re as a natural guide. Birds will fly along side you and lead you to points of interest, you'll see flocks of birds hovering over other places of intrigue, and all of this done by using the wind as your way point, not some generic GPS or line on the road to follow. Press a button, you'll see the wind flow in the direction you need to go, it's remarkable how much that sort of 'in world' directional queue can increase immersion...

    Where to take weapons.....

Yara is in blockade and under sanctions.

    What does it mean?

The Force that put the country in this situation avoids open military standoff or direct invasion.
It means that Yara is not so defenseless. It can punch back in the mouth.

That Force is acting from a distance, from afar. Trying to undermine Yara economy first.

Which means that dictator has (or had) rather strong military.

Strong military force means much, much weapons.
Weapons that are stored in warehouses.

    Warehouses on military bases.

Different types of military bases and warehouses - something that dictator should have.

There we will take real weapons! (not only there)
Making raids on these warehouses and military bases.

Pirates and cultists can't afford themselves to have things that dictator can afford.
Military force and well protected military bases.

    Better different types.
Spacious as well. For good stealth.
