Hey BHatv, welcome to the forums!

I'm sorry that your performance is taking a hit when choosing the Vulkan API. There are a few issues we have identified with Vulkan and RAM, which we are looking in to. In the mean time, we would recommend reducing the texture quality and/or the resolution of the game.

Also, please ensure your GPU drivers are up to date. Alternatively, you should have the option of choosing between DX11 and Vulkan - if you choose DX11 in the meantime, surely this means you can still play?

    Vulkan massive FPS drops

    Hi,

I use Vulkan because of the great fps boost compared to DX but I experience massive fps drops now and then (see the video).
    Why?

    Thanks!

    Vincent

After the TU 2.1.0 update. a lot of players are suffering from Stuttering / dropping FPS running the game on Vulkan ... from what I saw in other posts Ubisoft is already aware, we are waiting for a correction.

Vulkan has been crashing for me. I completely wiped and re-installed my GPU drivers, uninstalled, and re-installed the entire game. This game is in need of a huge bug fix update. Every patch brings a slew of bugs. They fix one and 5 more pop up. It's ridiculous.

Lower terrain quality to Very high. Anything above that makes tesselation go crazy, resulting in massive stutter and frame drops.

Has this only started occurring for you all since the latest update?
Can you please let us know what setup you are running.

It started with the last update, the one that brought AI teammates. For me it's the terrain quality setting above very high that triggers it. This is widely reported on Reddit for example.
