I'd much rather they put in a toggle, so that those who want the Outcasts to be doing their thing can have them bring the map more to life, and those of us who don't want to have put up with them won't have to.
Frankly, I find the Outcasts frustrating to have around, really frustrating, pretty much to the point that their mere presence angers me. They run directly counter to how I like to play; calm, quiet infiltration, no fuss, get in and do what I was going to do and get out. Yet the Outcasts keep on ruining that for me and in such stupendously stupid ways. Solo charges by vehicles into bases only to be destroyed in seconds, infantry engaging in protracted firefights that achieve nothing; its making me want to play the game less because the Outcasts ruin my experience.* Everywhere I go there seems to be an Outcast firefight, the constant crackling of gunfire around me as they stir up the area around where ever I'm going. I can't do my thing because they undermine me constantly.
If they are going to be bringing them back post-event as a fully-fledged out thing, then I hope to goodness they tone down just how much action goes on with them; its getting on my nerves.
*Case study: I was trying to sneak into Longford farm in Fen Bog to grab the UMP blueprint. Just as I was approaching the farm an Outcast helicopter attacked the place from above and was promptly destroyed. Then a pick-up truck charged in and was also destroyed. Finally the Outcast infantry turned up, stood out in the open and traded fire with Sentinels, with me stuck in the middle, unable to go anywhere because the Sentinels would have spotted me (I was hidden with prone camo), and stuck there for ages, unable to do anything until I decided, out of frustration and anger, to get involved and it really did not go well for me when the Sentinels promptly ignored the Outcasts and obliterated me instead.

I for one said that on this very thread, some pages back, but it's entirely conjecture on my part, and mind you, an overly optimistic one at that.Originally Posted by ArgimonEd Go to original post

The whole game is messed up
Thought that Nomad was SPEC- OPs but seems to be under powered .
& those dam drones are as pain
You do missions to help the resistance , they join the fight & do pretty well
So WHY take them away
Personally I think its just about the money & bugger what people are saying & asking for.
Spot on blue, this really highlights the necessity of the 2 way communication that we have been asking for since the release of breakpoint. Is this the testbed for a us invasion later into the story, given that Sam is taking professor X off the island and has ways to get in and out are they testing how it would work in the world being populated by more than one force. Who knows what the studio is working on or planning, but all I know is that when the world returns to how it was and the Azrael starts spawning every few minutes I will not be still playing that is for sure.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I know that there is still a lot of annoyance at the studio's failings, given a lot of people still can't even play which is awful and the continued locking attachments to certain weapons that make it feel that the studio is still not listening, this is the most positive peoples reception has been to something they have released and it will be crazy to fall flat on their face again by switching off something that improves the game. If it is something that is going to be improved upon or added with a different force that is fine but even if that is the case turning it off beforehand is still the wrong decision.
Ubi we have been asking all the way through for more open 2-way communication, stop continuing down the path you walk and work with us, if you are serious about improving the game then just reach out, we have made an effort with you and it's about time the hand was also entended from YOU!
If they were to do that I would walk back much of my recent pessimism about the direction of this game. Up to this point Ubi has treated its paying customers like mushrooms.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
If they were to reverse that, I think I would see a possible future for this game. I still won't buy the year 2 season pass, at least not until I'm sure they have in fact turned the game around and the season pass is on deep discount.
I'm sorry, but if the rebels go for even a day, I'm gonna say that they have fully burnt through any and all good will.
Personally, I just don't see why they would bother adding the option to turn them off, if they were ever only going to be present for a few weeks. So I don't think that they plan to completely remove the current rebel mechanics. They may get temporarily disabled until after Episode 3 launches, so as to not interfere with the story. But Bard is probably not allowed to say what the actual plans are, until they are officially announced.
