    Revisiting Wildlands after latest content.

So I burned through the new additions pretty quickly. I appreciate the world being a bit more lively now, and having the team again, but it's still not even in the same league as what Wildlands was. Stuff like the team dialogue, where all they have to say for themselves is constant talk about bloody silencers. It's still as if the people working on this just know absolutely zero about the genre or the job they're depicting or anything.

I pulled this off my HD and swapped in Wildlands again and I've been playing that, and I can confidently say that I will never play another minute of Breakpoint. It's just laughable. It's so childish and completely constructed of BS compared to WL. It's just so unconvincing, like. WL wasn't perfect. It could have used more story and a bit more character in the environments, particularly in cities, but it's just in a different league, in a different sport than this game. I remembered how refreshing it was to not have any makey-uppy BS shoved in to try and make the game more addictive or whatever, like loot and magical healing injections and so-on, and what did they do?

It's hard to believe the two games had the same director, or were even made by the same company. I know others have pointed out that it's like they just don't understand the game, and I'd have to agree. It's as if the appeal of WL went completely over their heads. Every single thing is better. The dialogue, the acting, the general believability of the premise, even the loot is just miles better. They actually replaced cool models from WL with pieces of crap for this game, like robber bandanas (which look like my granny modelled in this game) and the standard gas mask - which makes you look like a cartoon character now, and you can no longer put a hat on over, and the hoodie with the hood down, now, and on and on. It's just all so desperately uncool, like. I've never seen such a bad job.

I still love Wildlands but Breakpoint can not be saved, they just made the wrong choice every time and their idea of who's actually playing these games veers from patronising to insulting and is cynical across the spectrum. I hope they'll actually fire whoever messed this up and just learn how to be cool again for the next game.

Strangely enough when I played the open beta of the Breakpoint I remember how ****ty my first impressions were from the game were horrible. From the moment I shot that pistol at the first enemies I encountered I knew something was wrong. The recoil and sound design were absolutely terrible hearing my character moan and groan put me off for some odd reason and when I saw a beanie with a level 3 on it I was disgusted... But nothing compares the amount of disappointment to when the Cutscene of Weavers death. I remember Xbox 360’s Halo 4 cutscenes literally looked handcrafted by the gods for it’s time, but those cutscenes were now a normality with our modern gaming gen. And Breakpoint managed to bring it back PS2 Generation with their god awful voice acting, character modeling and animations. I could not believe these cutscenes made it into the final game. I remember seeing the first trailer for Breakpoint and it’s promises to bring realism and immersion into the ghost recon series. Seeing a beautiful fictional world with futuristic technology made me believe we were going to receive a real Tom Clancy Future Soldier and Wildlands Hybrid. Boy was I wrong. They really did us dirty

A bunch of us feel the same. We dabble in updates but really I think the loyalty for WL lives on.
