Yes, absolutely. But I fear that instead of focusing on good level design for open levels (think Hitman series) they'd make it an open world RPG-lite with crafting, a million collectibles, with a boring map and a boring story. Something bland that drags on and overstays its welcome.

Ubisoft has the capability to be one of the most diverse developers.

They have several large studios under their umbrella and are notorious for making very similar games.
I'll refer you to a post I made not long ago:

Lets play a game, try to tell me which modern Ubisoft game I'm referring to:
-vast pretty open world but not all that interesting to explore
-you have a bunch of outposts/forts/bases to clear that all play the same
-map is filled with collectibles/chests to open that don't give you anything of value 99% of the time
-fast travel markers
-some form or method of transportation beyond just walking/running
-RPG-lite mechanics in the form of perks/skills
-crafting system with minimal impact on gameplay
-shallow stealth and open combat are your options
-super straightforward quests/missions that all play essentially the same
-loads of unidimensional forgettable characters
-bland story OR starts out strong but loses steam and pacing and becomes forgettable

You are not wrong in your impression. I replied in an earlier thread that the new Paladin rifle description mentions that it is "Sarah's signature rifle."

NO, UBISOFT NO!!!!! Blacklist was crammed with cringe worthy characters. We don't need Sam Fishers daughter. Enough is Enough....just give us a good SC game.

They could just use Briggs. Have Sam fulfill Lambert's role.

I wouldn't be opposed to having Sarah follow in her father's footesteps but I don't recall them ever hinting at that in any way (it's been a good while since I played the more modern SC games). IDK it would feel a bit ouf of left field especially when you already have Briggs ready to fill that role.

I've never played a Splinter Cell game, so I'm probably talking out my a$$, but have you considered the possibility that Breakpoint might be a better Splinter Cell game than a Ghost Recon game? There's a full set of Splinter Cell cosmetics, weapons, and even several missions with Sam Fischer. And the rest of the game's story is probably more relevant to Splinter Cell than it is to a Tier 1 unit. I don't know... but I think you could certainly play Breakpoint as a Splinter Cell style game if that's your preferred style.

Stealth in BP is very very shallow compared to something like SC or Thief. It's like saying BP is a good GR game that's very similar to the GR games of old... it absolutely is not.

It'd sure be nice to have a new Splinter Cell in the works, however I do wonder if whenever DLC comes out for that game, it will be all centered around GR instead of SC.

I literally spent the last 2 days trying to recover my account just so i could join the millions begging for a new game, I hate seeing Sam Everywhere but his own game like come on Ubisoft just give this man his game back. I know this will probably never see the light of day but i hope Ubisoft will just listen to their fans and restore our Man, the myth and the legend himself to his former glory and whats with the new voice actor?? At this point its not even Sam anymore its some cheap knock off they're using to sap every bit of money out of him. Rip to the legend. Hope he comes back in his own title.
