Wow, I never knew the AI pilots can effectively land. This raises a lot of potential from AI transporting Ghosts to player designated areas to enemy helicopters landing with reinforcements.

I don’t jive with handing over control to the player during the flight- I think the player can point on a map to where he wants to go at some point during the transaction between calling the helo and being aboard... but I don’t personally like the idea of passing control back and forth. The Contrast of getting picked up at a hot LZ fighting for my life and then suddenly I’m a pilot or controlling the helicopter that came to get me from the skid seems a little too... erm... distracting or something.
You don't even need super obvious LZ locations with a landing pad and stuff, a clearing in the middle of nowhere would do. The important bit is that these are preset, so we can busy ourselves with other things, Hot LZ? pick an alternative one, be it during mission planing or on the fly, deploy smoke and wait for the helo to arrive. The possibilities are enormous.

It’s definitely not the preferred option to take control ourselves, but there are two things to consider.

1, Controlling height and direction could be seen as Nomad passing the pilot instructions.

2, Ubisoft are going to be the ones coding this, so it’s probably best to keep it as simple as possible!

    Great idea.

I have question. sorry, maybe wrong place.

I was not playing for a two months, now i see, shop isnt present in a Camp, and there are no possibilty to call my transport to a camp.

When thia was changed? i could not find this in any patch notes.

    Thanks.

It's now an option when you select which mode you wish to play. At least I'm assuming it's an option if you pick "regular mode" (i.e., gear score). Goes hand-n-hand with whether Erewhon is to be private or public.

Ideally, if they were to add this, I would hope that they would also add fast roping, if the destination does not have a set landing zone.

Hi Chris, it's Ubisoft from the past. I just want to let you know that instead of building out cool features like this we will instead remove all rebel support and AI teammates and build out a bland island with killer robots instead. You will love it though trust us.

LOL. Yeah, where every operator is a trained helicopter pilot.

If they used the same engine from The Division, this wouldn't be a problem.

And sadly, as you know, It's not just that either: having that aspect of the game delegated to AI, would leave us free to do other things like, experiencing a hot extract, aerial platform marksmanship, an many many other possibilies would simply open up , just by doing that.
