Sugar Cane is integral part of the Cuban flora.
Shootout there, chasing, escaping, fire, can be good for the gameplay and missions.
People who tried to chop sugar cane with machete say that it's a real nightmare.
Despite the fact that you have to do it in the tropical heat and scorching sun, such thickets are full of biting insects.
Water that you took with you, under the sun... it gets very hot.
Scorching sun + heat + insects + hot water...do their evil work.
The strongest of african slaves didn't live long.
I think developers shouldn't miss sugar cane in the game.
(If you have some thoughts about Far Cry 6 tropical flora and fauna write it!)
Looks really interesting considering both - the fact that it could be a nice playground for hide and seek gameplay as well as a great place for hiding predators like some snakes or jaguars (hope they will be present in the game even if there are no big predators on Cuba).
As for the Fauna part of the game - I'd love to see crocodiles at their best - running, swimming, not just staying in place waiting for their prey.
Have a look here for extended discussion and details.

Why not to make a mission where we have to survive among the crocodiles in one of the swamps full of crocodiles?!
Or some mad Anton's general may use us as bait for crocodiles, having left us wounded and bleeding on the edge of the swamp....for fun.
I've read that in some parts of the world colonizers used local children as bait for crocodiles.
Crocodiles have a good ear.
Crying helpless child nearby attracted them immediately.
The laziest of them started to run towards a child.
Such babies were available for colonizers for 2$ a week.
In America, for instance, there is even a song - "Mammy's little aligator bait" (1899)
Why not to make a mission where we're being used as a bait for crocodiles....to feel it on our own skin (if it's possible to say so), to feel it the hard way.
Crying and bleeding, survivng among crocodiles, under the laughter of sadists...
This music can play....
Normal speed than slower and slower.
being a native cuban I can tell you that cana is not all over cuba. I was born in Isla De La Juventud and we do not have cana there at all. It is a very different place. Yes they do do have a lot of it, but that is in some providences in the mainland. In my 14 years living there I never saw one or even drank cana. Cuba's fauna is very much like key largo for the most part.
Juventude is an island!
Pretty far from the main land, by local standarts.
Moreover, it's a coniferous island. Of course ther are no sugar cane fields.
But good that you reminded about Juventud!
It's a realm of pine trees.
Even previous name of the island was - Island of pine trees.
Its coat of arms - a pine tree.
To have such an island in the game would be good. Diversity!

Many people just don't understand what is it - Sugar Cane.
How many people died because of that Sugar Cane!
How many people were killed because of that Sugar Cane!
How many african slaves lost their lives while crossing the ocean, in the most inhuman conditions.
How many of them were tortured to death in the sugar cane fields!
Sugar Cane - is not an ordinary plant.
Not an ordinary part of flora.
It has deep sprirtual significance.
It is washed by sweat, tears and blood.
