Argonaut Knight. There's a phrase, "if it is not broke why fix it?" You must know a number of games that were popular then lost sales on the next version because it changed or lost features that made it great, then on the version after that tried to put back what should never have been removed. Developers bring their own bias into game design, which is often new for the sake of new. Being new can be brilliant, such as Far Cry 2 and Last of Us, to take two examples. But building on the success of a game means keeping what made players love it, and adding new to change the experience. Think of the F1 racing games and what makes them successful. They haven't introduced rocket engines, as an example, because fans aren't interested in that sort of new.
Certainly a lot of people willI agree with you that games need to avoid getting stuck but there are things that work and should stay there. Look at FIFA and it's only football! How long have people been playing football? So what makes people still want to buy football games with the same old pitch layout and ball?
This reply is not intended as an answer to all your points of view, just focussing on your point about re-using weapons. Would you want the main emphasis on fast hand to eye coordination in games? StarCraft is not about hand to eye coordination and there are world class players of StarCraft who never win an fps game. Blizzard gets it right becuase they have what players want and build on it instead of replacing it, and all game developers could learn from them.

I read a similar thread about weapons. Even pretty sure I wrote something there. Yet the thing that strikes me here is the choice of words and the very personal opinion that is shown there.

I m fine with the guns from the previous games. Each one adds his own small amount to the whole franchise and I m not looking for 15 different guns that does the exact same thing. The one thing I care about is customization.

i am feeling like some weapons that have been in game many times could use replacement i do not know that many players are excited to again see the skorpion machine pistol again why not swap that one out for something more interesting some weapons make sense to use in many games like the ak which is every where but i would rather have less guns and more customizing options than just a few new weapons added to the lists and no new customize options

The most things I learnt from guns is by playing videogames. So I m not very familiar with their origins and history but if Yara has been in a blockade for 60 years, "old weapons" should be the ones we get, alongside some new ones used by the troops of Castilla.

They should at least include more variety of Soviet/Chinese weapons and vehicles. There are huge amounts of weapons that were not added in past Far Cry games.

One new weapon they could let us use is artillery cannons, similar to how the mortar could used but only in certain locations in Far Cry 4 and 5. I remember you could do this in Mercenaries.

One of my most wanted weapon additions would be another recycle in the USAS-12, would LOVE to see them bring that bad boy back from FC2. I do think we need a better selection of assault rifles than we have been getting. Would dig a SCAR or G36 inspired gun on that front. I hope they bring back the P226 as well, I felt that was legitimately the best weapon addition in FC5...

If I would be forgiven for writing something here (because the developers already have so much to read):

Please include a silencer for every weapon, that can be put on and taken off, anywhere that the player is.

In Far Cry 3, if you wanted to customize your weapon, such as putting on a silencer, you had to be at a weapon locker. You could not put a silencer on or take it off if you were in the middle of nowhere.

To be honest, best weapon system I saw was from Metro exodus. You could build your own gun on the fly and transform a base pistol into a sniper or a machine gun in a proper silenced bolt rifle. Since FC6 takes care of modifying weapons through scenario use (with blockade and all) it could be a good example to expand upon.

One of the best things about FC's weapon loadouts and inventory is that you can hold 4 weapons at a time. I find that being able to carry that much firepower allows me to pack weapons appropriate for any situation, meaning I rarely find myself wishing to silence or un-silence a particular weapon. In addition there are a multitude of other means with which to silently takedown enemies. I've never found myself with a desire to attach or detatch silencers on the fly. If they add it that's cool, but there are certainly bigger fish to fry imo...

You're basically talking about Crysis, Far Cry's spiritual successor. I would like to see this happen for Far Cry 6, since they did this before with Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 and Ghost Recon Wildlands & Breakpoint.
