Rebel Resistance in the World Fixes a Lot

I don't often have a lot of positive things to say about this game, but here's one time.

I think the new Rebel Resistance activity in the world is a huge improvement over the stale flyover nightmare that existed before.

This whole situation completely transforms the game. It brings the world to life, it makes it seem like you have a purpose, like you're not just doing stuff because you're bored and have nothing else to do. It just seems more real and lived in now by real people, which was one of the biggest complaints about Auroa. The Rebels even have a checkpoint I found on the highway with their vehicles, graffiti, flags, etc. Awesome!. LOL.

Of course it would be ideal if we, the player, helped them take these locations, but hey, it's a good start.

The live event missions were also great... I really hope those mission templates make it into the regular daily Faction Mission rotation.

Now some might argue it's a bit overdone since you literally can't go anywhere without a major fire fight breaking out, and you may want some peace and quiet in the wilderness now and then, but the beauty is this is an option! It's perfect. If you're near civilized areas or roads, turn it on. If you're deep into the wilderness, turn it off. Brilliant.

The other thing I noticed is that I can now drive on roads. There are Rebel patrols on roads, driving and on foot, and even checkpoints like the one above or the smaller two person checkpoints. It means that you can drive more places without being engaged in constant fire fights.

One thing that makes it challenging is that it's hard at a distance to differentiate between Sentinel and Rebels if you're not using HUD. This is perfect as it should be. I need to use binoculars or my high power optic to check targets before I engage, which is good.

And the best part is there's no bloody Azreals any more! My god that was annoying. Now there's the occasional helicopter, and sometimes, it's friendly! LOL.

Ubi Paris, job well done on taking a huge step in the right direction with the evolution of this world. I applaud this. I think it will get me logging into play more often now. We just need some more mission content, variety in the Faction Missions and some ongoing rewards to work towards... then it would be great.

I completely agree, this was a very welcome change to Auroa, and a breath of fresh air in the gameplay experience.

I like your idea of helping the rebels to claim outposts and checkpoints. Maybe there could even be some kind of ongoing, constantly evolving struggle for territory control between the Outcasts and Sentinel that the player could partake in? It would be also cool to see more evolution in the buildings and the environment as the war rages on. Maybe there could be a small campaign which ends in Erewhon moving to a reclaimed village or city?

I also just have to repeat myself on how much I appreciate that there are no drones or over the top scifi stuff in the missions.

I wish that this whole faction warfare dynamic is a permanent change and not just related to the live event, and I really wish to see more updates like this in the future.

I fully subscribe to everything you have written.
The revel outcasts resistance should continue beyond the event date, obviously with the option to disable it for those who do not enjoy it.
New missions are much better. They are more consistent, and just because they talk to you on the radio, and interacting with other characters gives much more credibility and meaning to what you're doing.
For many months that I had no illusion to visit Auroa, keep working in this direction .....

I agree too. This rebel resistance idea adds a lot of content to the game and helps immersion greatly.
About driving around in Auroa, I have to check how it works when I get the rebel presence to the top. I plan to use the Shepherd truck, with the turret, and actively search for the firefights.

Damn, I'd really like to try out the changes brought by rebels to the game world. It sounds really awesome.
Too bad that on xbox the event is completely broken and the rebels are nowhere to be seen while free roaming (except for their missions).

Completely agree. Hopefully, they can expand this toward the idea by vandhaar, where bases are captured and then reclaimed, but it’s already a big step in the right direction.

Agreed dude totally agree the best thing about this is for most stealth players that use a suppressor mostly or all the time gives you a good damn reason to go loud, the camp/base takeovers are a high worth chasing on top of that I like the constant firefights that me and the Harlem Hell fighters get into is just digital organismic watching the rebels come out of whatever they were doing to come a help $#!t even had a enemy and rebel chopper going at it while trying to put us and them down WTF! Just amazing fun, got off work @ 08:00 didn’t get off until 16:37 have not done that since the lost of coop players on my list and also f*** coop give me A.I.’s and I am fine that’s why you don’t get rid of A.I. Teammates just that one dig that’s it.

TU 2.1.0 makes Breakpoint feel more like Wildlands and that's a good thing in my opinion. I hope Ubisoft can capitalise on the momentum they've created from this update, to improve the game even further.
