For one thing, switching your equipped weapon to a throwable is never a good idea in FPS. Throwables need to be dedicated to a separate button than firing your weapons, most people despise when you have to switch to grenades at the expense of your firearm. Also both shoulder buttons being different wheels for different weapon types is just overly complicating things. I just don't think it would work out too well control wise and I still feel like the idea of parrying melee attacks in a shooter is a little beyond the realm of necessary additions.
There are still many ways that melee and takedowns could be made a bigger and better part of the series for sure though. One thing I was thinking about a while ago was how enemy hit reactions could be used strategically, like if you shoot an enemy in the leg as you're running toward them, it could make them stumble and become susceptible to a takedown even though they were aware of you and saw you coming which normally prevents takedowns from being performed on them.
Playing FPS on console is a counter-intuitive notion(exactly, not even a hobby) in of itself... How about you just go back to your comfy armchair and let the real gamers and devs work these things out
Allthough, sorry: Multitapping could still keep FC innovation console friendly. For instance, doubletapping 'Y' could throw that rock- doubletap followed by holding 'Y' could cook it. Suddenly 'down' key becomes unlocked for something completely new, right ? If applied on remaining X,A,B keys, multitaping could let the console community enjoy plenty of new FC mechanics. As for swaping between throwables only and weapons only; it isn't really new. Remote explosives has been all about this since fc2 and not even I was bothered with that playing FC3 on console.
Great idea about the hit reactions btw. Couldn't get enough of that in Solder of Fortune back in the days. Though FC has made good progress here allready, with disarming shots to the arm for instance, it would be great if Ubisoft exlored this system further.
I feel like there should be more distinction between the pc and console ports.. not sure they have to share everything gameplay mechanic. Would be great with a small set of PC exclusive moves, adapted to the keyboard/mouse layout- and a small set of console exclusive moves, adapted to the gamepad layouts. In some future FC perhaps, would be great if the console limitations didn't have to infect all future FC titles.
Yeah one could allmost run it like a gag jargong. At any rate, adding a 'multi tap' function to most gamepad keys(Arkane City did this with the utility belt) should allow for more versatile keybinding and hence deeper gameplay design for both console and pc ports.
I especially remember a 3rd person game called 'Silver' in which holding 'CTRL' allowed you to drag the mouse in various directions to prepare different attacks. Very immersive, which should work great in first person too. A melee combat built on that idea, might only require one additional key to turn either gamepad joysticks or the mouse into very manual mediums for selecting attacks and their directions.
Despite all the criticism...
Today there is such a stable opinion among the people - "UBISOFT HAS NO BALLS"
Ubisoft just show some events, problems, indicates them - but sais nothing.
It looks like Ubisoft wants to catch agiotage and hype on the problems.
Just look at "Watchdogs Legion"!
Protests, riotes and ........ "Super Granny".
People see such things more like cowardice and attempt to stay away from the problems.
If you say A you should say B.
I hope Far Cry 6 will be more controversial and sensitive!
Give'em Hell, developers!
Small tweak on auto selecting throwables when running out of previously selected ones; Disable it. Sometimes your run out of throwing knifes. Then you pick them upmeaning to throw them the moment later like some ninja... and instead you toss a fistful of meat in said enemy's face- DEAD! hilarious way to go, but should be tweaked out for FC6 I think
City - cause concern.
City - always additional challenge for developers.
What kind of city it will be?
Will it be a Dead City like in Watch Dogs Legion? Lifeless model, full of bobbleheads.
Or it will be more or less alive? (Like it was in GTA5, for instance)
Buildings - their interaction with us...
Citizens - their interaction with us....
Missions in the city ....
Everything is important!
Will Esperanza be alive???
Or will it be dead???
This will be one of the components of the game's succes.
This makes no sense for this thread. No sense.Originally Posted by GameGuru2018 Go to original post
I think you'll find their posts are pretty consistent in that regard.Originally Posted by Borkaman87 Go to original post
