    Maneuvring /interaction polishing in FC6

Been playing FC insanely much, by definition . Each game I regard a masterpiece. However, diamonds desserve their proper fassetts-

    - Diving to ground(suggested in a fc5 thread, awesme). I suggest double tapping 'jump' should trigger this move and move directions its direction. When down you stay down unless you press 'jump' or 'sprint+move' and are allowed to look and aim arround freely.

Obviously getting all way down should allso be possible, perhaps by double tapping 'crouch'.

    Climbing/Mantling

-I realized that half the times I grab onto ledges it is by mistake. A fix might be you only grab ledges while 'jump' is held.

    - Similar with ladders. Best treated like a grappling platform, activated when facing next to it by pressing 'interact'' and instantly dismounted by pressing 'crouch'. Allso, Sidearms and throwables should be usable while on ladders.

    - Slopes, cliffs, debris- maneuvring these is mostly great allready. But I remember playing the Xenomorph in Alien vs Predator- climbing any ceiling and wall seemlessly. Surely climbing and slid breaking on slopes can be improved upon for FC6- nicely tied to your ability to holster weapons < such a wonderful feature, which should allow for all kinds of climbing, sparring and parcour in future FCs.

    Interacting and picking stuff up
After a shootout it sometimes gets hard looting bodies or entering vehicles because of all the weapons scattered arround. The 'pick up weapon' prompt blocks any other interaction prompts. Same way the interaction prompt for containers or vehicles can block the 'pick up weapon' prompt. A solution might be that 'pick up weapon' prompt is only allowed while 'interact' is held and activated when 'attack' is pressed. Other interaction is withhold until 'interact' key is released.

    - Exiting vehicles on the wrong side can be troublesome. Pressing 'interact' and either steer direction should let you choose from which side to exit- with sidearms and throwables useable while doing so. Allso, upon exiting vehicles the animation should put function over realism; Closing a car door is not essential in the midst of a fire fight- nor to pull the stand out under some urban friendly motorbike(just drop it to the ground)

    Any other suggestions?

I agree with most of what you're suggesting here. I know there are a lot of people who want the ability to go prone (I could take or leave it myself, don't really use it) but if they were to implement prone I do think we should do the dolphin dive in to it if initiated from a sprint. I do think double tapping jump is a slightly odd way to do so, personally I think just an extended press of crouch should go into prone and if you're sprinting at the time it should do the dive move.

I'd love to see them iron out some of the kinks with the climbing and mantling movesets, especially as FC6 is going to have our first real urban environments, I think mobility is going to be more important. I really hope they give us some new navigational skills. It'd be awesome if they made the grappling hook more free form with a way to quickly and easily use it while running and jumping through the environment. I'd like to see them improve the on-foot controls and I think you've made a great suggestion there with having to hold the jump button as you clamber on or over obstacles.. Halo 5 actually implemented a feature like that and it worked great, very fluid & responsive.

I will say I don't want to have to press a button to initiate a ladder climb, I always find that to be cumbersome and detrimental to movement fluidity. There are some cases where it's in the players hands to ensure they're moving appropriately, and accidental ladder climbs are something I feel the player is responsible for avoiding. Maybe they could make that an option you could toggle on or off in the options.

There are rumors that say this game will feature jetpacks, and this screen kinda looks like the protag is wearing one. At first I thought it was the fuel tank for the flame thrower but now I'm inclined to believe it is a makeshift jetpack. If this is the case I'll be curious to see exactly how they work. I hope they are similar to the wingsuits in that we just always have them and can use them whenever we want. Excited by the potential these bring to navigation for sure.

Likewise, it was a fine read. On proning I agree, take it or leave it. Might be tricky implementing it on NPCs too. I ran FC5 and tested double tapping 'jump' as opposed to extendingly pressing 'crouch'(c) and realized 'jump'(space) is easier combined with all movement directions on PC. It can allso be used without running. Guess I'm prone to stand firm on this issue.

Yeah it's exactly the urbanized environments I had in mind too. As for the grappling hook, there could still be some use to it- despite improved maneuvring and jet packs. We'll see. At any case, I'm glad we agree on 'held jump to clamber'. Halo 5 should certainly be a polished one, and I know Arkane Studios did fine work with clambering and mantling in 'Dishonored'.

As for that dang ladder again; If the quickest way down from a roof is the route over the ladder but you don't want to leap out- or just want to lean out over that part of the ledge and shoot, that auto grab really makes it a pickle. It certainly has made me groan abit. Something slicker from Ubisofts Ladder Department would be nice. As for the jet packs,it looks like great fun- like FC4 buzzer on foot. Decending is probably best assigned to ctrl,.... easier combined with WASD than C, unless you're a console champ of course.

if far cry 6 has jet packs then a ladder will not be needed for climbing down you simply use your jetpack haha

Speaking of the buzzer from Far Cry 4, they should bring that back in this game. It would definitely give more aircraft variety.

It would be interesting to combine the harpoon gun with a zipline/grappling hook mechanic as special ammo.

Don't know where I got the 'urban friendly' part from, geech. Dirt bikes would be awesome.
