I've been waiting to do this for some time, but I don't know why. I have tons of characters.
Name: Frank
Gender: Male
Species: Hoodlum (Hoodmonger Private 1st Class)
Age: --
Height: About .0002 cm taller than Rayman
Past: Frank was in the Hoodlum corps for about 3 weeks. If you've played Rayman 3, then you might remember a Hoodlum standing on a crate with a bunch of piggy banks around it in Clearleaf Forest (it's right after you use the orange can to open the three metal gates). That was Frank. The only difference is that when you killed hgim in the game, Frank survived and went to tell the "Head Hoodlum that was in André's Place" at the Hoodlum HQ, which resulted in him getting fired. Frank became the main character for my first Rayman fanfic, Hoodlum Resistance, which takes place while Rayman's on Earth. So I suppose he's essentially a main character.
Skills: While no one's entirely sure why, Frank is one of the only Hoodlums that can actually use the Laser Detergent that transforms your clothes into combat fatigues. He's also an excellent shot.
Flaws: Frank has a bit of an emotional flaw in the fact that (and, due to bad writing, this is only really present a few times) he continuously compares himself to Rayman. In Hoodlum Resistance, Frank sees himself as a "substitute Rayman," and attempts to take out a rebuilt Hoodlum camp in Clearleaf Forest singlehandedly, like Rayman did. When he inevitably fails, he's plagued with some doubt that presents itself at various parts in the story.
Personality: Occaisionally sarcastic, Frank never really seems like he's thought an action through. In reality, nearly all of Frank's actions are very carefully thought over, except when he's emotionally compromised. He's also very resourceful.
First appearance: Rayman: Hoodlum Resistance
Name: Niehr
Gender: Female
Species: Unknown
Age: Unknown, but appears to be the same as Ly's
Height: Same as Ly's
Past: Unknown, which is relatively unfortunate for Rayman, considering that if he knew where she was coming from he could understand just why her morality can be...off
Skills: Basic skills similar to Ly's (speed, agility, fire throwing, etc), but the fire she throws is black, and she appears to be able to morph parts of her body into shadowy blades, hands, and all sorts of other objects. Incidently, Niehr looks a lot like Ly, but she has a bandage over her right eye, her left ee is red, her hair is white, and, instead of Ly's orange outfit with purple stripes, Niehr's is gray with black stripes.
Flaws: There are numerous issues with Niehr, one being that she's kind of creepy. Other issues kind of double as spoilers, so I really can't say too much
Personality: Quiet, kind of eerie
First appearance: The Deceased
Name: Raymond
Gender: Male
Species: Limbless
Age: About 6 months older than Rayman
Height: Same as Rayman
Past: Raymond is Rayman's brother (kind of obvious, huh?), although their appearance are drastically different. Raymond's hair is black and in a different style, and he wears a dark dress shirt and black shoes. Also, he's got a sword, which he swings backhand-style.
Skills: Sword-mastery, a bit smarter than Rayman
Flaws: I can't give anything away yet
Personality: *CONTAINS SPOILERS*
First appearance: In terms of my writing the books, The Deceased. In chronological order (all of my stories have their own little web of continuity), Ly: The Story of the Second Light (I haven't started writing this one yet)
Name: Schnitzel (you can already tell that he's not going to last)
Gender: Male
Species: German (Austrian?) Hoodlum (Hoodmonger Soldier)
Age: Deceased
Height: Average soldier height
Past: The unfortunate Hoodlum stationed with Frank when Frank was still a Hoodlum. In that same scenario, he's the Soldier that came out after you opened all 3 metal gates, and that you inevitably blew up with a rocket.
Skills: Speaking in that awesome German/Austrian accent, getting blown up
Flaws: Rocket magnet, sometimes people have trouble understanding him
Personality: Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, only stupid...stupidER
First appearance: Rayman: Hoodlum Resistance
Name: Larry
Gender: Male
Species: Hoodlum (Hoodboom)
Age: --
Height: Taller than Frank
Past: Too insane to remember it
Skills: Throwing bombs, getting drunk
Flaws: Gets drunk off plum juice a lot, but that also makes him easy friends with Globox
Personality: Loveably FREAKING INSANE
Names: N/A
Genders: Male
Species: Dark Hoodlums
Ages: --
Height: Same as Frank
Past: Through a series of events that contain too many spoilers to describe, all of André's Hoodlums transform into Dark Hoodlum. No one has ever actually seen a Dark Hoodlum fire it's blunderbuss
Skills: A Dark Hoodlum's touch corrupts the victim, forming another Dark creature of some kind. Dark Hoodlums are like shadows in the sense that any attacks simply go through them, with no apparent effect.
Flaws: They are not conversationalists. You will never see a Dark Hoodlum speak or even change it's facial expression.
Personality: None
Names: Unknown as of yet
Species: Unknown
Genders: Male
Ages: Unknown, but one is older than Niehr and one is older than Niehr
Past: Unknown. They have a similar coloration as Niehr, and they share her abilities. They also appear to be brothers.
Skills: Same as Niehr's, but more strength and less agility. Also, they can't throw fire
Flaws: The younger of the two is more reckless.
Personality: Obviously evil
Names: N/A
Genders: Unknown
Species: Dark Skirters
Ages: N/A
Instead of Past, I'll do Info: Dark Skirters are a race of strange spider-like creatures (think black lums with 8 legs) that Rayman and co. encounter in Razoff's Mansion in Apocalypse (2nd fanfic). Light appears to be poisonous to them, and they infest dark places. The Bog of Murk, a place of eternal night, is their homeland. They have developed night vision, and can easily overwhelm anyone without a candle. I developed this race a lot more than I needed to, considering the only appear for a short time.
Skills: Night vision, invincibility in darkness
Flaws: Direct exposure to light incinerates them, they're weak on their own
Personality: Feral, kind of demonic, but in a mindless sort of way
Names: N/A
Genders: Generally male
Species: Dark Knaaren
Ages: --
Info: It wasn't long before the Dark Hoodlums got into the Knaaren caves, and soon, terrifying and inherently invincible Dark Knaaren were made. Dark Knaaren serve as the primary military for...the enemy, reason being that Dark Hoodlums corrupt, but Dark Knaaren kill.
Skills: Invincible, capable of blinding speed bursts
Flaws: Usually slow
Personality: N/A
Sorry the post is so long. Whenever I make a character, I generally develope him or her a lot. Frank's thing is especially long because of the fact that I'd literally been developing Frank for years. Sorry.
Vaharnos
(In the picture he's near the border of Band Land and the jungle/forest areas.)
Gender: Male
Species: God
Age: Hirlanians, the people who Vaharnos created, have 7248 years of recorded history but it is not known when Vaharnos started his creation work. It is agreed that Vaharnos can't be more than 10000 years old.
Height: Twice as average raymanian.
Past: After being born he, like many gods before and after him, created a planet to make it the home for his creations, Hirlanians. After millenias of culture evolution they had become an intergalactic conquerer civilization that is led by lawyers and judges. Eventually Nelegus showed up and asked Vaharnos to join in his cause. He refused but Hirlanians disagreed with their god, changed the name of their species and voluntarily let robopirates to assimilate their planet. He managed to escape from Nelegus and has worked with the rebellion ever since.
Skills: Vaharnos' special power is to make an astral projection of himself and walk freely through solid walls. Only extremely strong magic fields are unpenetrable to his power.
Flaws: While the above skill is useful it leaves his body an empty shell that is more vurneable to magical attacks.
Personality: Easy-going, charismatic (mandatory for anyone who is/wants to be a god), polite.
Other info: Like Polokus he skipped the bilogical evolution of his creations but Vaharnos didn't give them language and let Hirlanians themselves to develop their ways to communicate. He also didn't want interact whith them too much, he only showed himself briefly to the first Hirlanians just to ensure that they would end up worshipping him.
Now i have a new one:
Name: Sakotsu
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Age: 12 (almost 13)
Height: Around 1,42 meters.
Past: Attacked by wolves :P
Skills: Telekinesis and ''Telemorphing'' (Turning something into different objects)
Flaws: Pass-out quickly, can't run for too much time.
Personality: Happy, calm, serious, and sad.
I don't understand. Why would you try to create a Rayman character? Creating your own characters for a book you're writing or something like that I can understand, but creating characters that aren't going to be used for anything? And have attempted connections to a pre-existing work the creation of which you had nothing to do with? Just... ‘standalone’ characters which serve no purpose? Even the attraction of fanfiction is vaguely understandable to me, but not this.
Well, i use Sakotsu for Silvermin Role-playing-story, but i don't wanna make more fanfics, the first one still haunts me.Originally posted by spiraldoor:

Usually fan characters are used for fan fictions, or for role-plays, sometimes in fan fictions the fan character does serve a purpose.Originally posted by spiraldoor:

Most of the time people make fan character out of fun. And it is fun, it is fun to experiment with unique traits and flaws; trying to create a balance. Most fans create fan characters because they like the game, book, film etc
This topic was created to show and introduce your fan characters or even your original characters. As well as to offer help on improving from writers by experience.
