I actually didn't even consider that. How far away do you have to be from the explosion to not get screen shake? And don't other explosive effects, like sticky bomb, cause screen shake too?

But anyway, I personally favor the Mortar because I'm good with it, and you get many shots. Unlike the sticky which is one shot per 10s with hard wired. Miss and you're screwed.

Okay, fellas. Here is what I came up with for my Demolitionist build.

    Demolitionist Specialization
Skills: Artillery Turret and Striker Drone

    Gear:

    Mask: Vile
    9.8% status effects
    9.8% hazard protection
11.5% skill haste in mod slot

    Chest: Eclipse Protocol
    10.0% skill damage
11.3% skill haste in mod slot

    Holster: Eclipse Protocol
    10.0% skill damage

    Backpack: Eclipse Protocol
    10.0% skill damage
11.3% skill haste in mod slot

    Gloves: Eclipse Protocol
    10.0% skill damage

    Kneepads: Wyvern Wear
    10.0% skill damge
    10.0% status effects

Primary Weapon: Harmony rifle with Perfectly In Sync

I wasn't entirely sure if I should use Wyvern or China Light in that last slot, but hopefully I'm on the right track!! Thank you all for the amazing information so far in this thread!!

    Hardwired Mask-10% Skill Damage
    & 12% Skill haste mode

China Vest-Glass Cannon, 10% Skill Damage, 11% Skill Haste, 12% Skill Haste Mod

    Hardwired Holster-10% Skill Damage

Wyvern Backpack- Tech Support, 10% Skill Damage, 11.2 Skill Hasre. 11.7 Skill Haste Mod

    Hardwired Gloves & Kneepads-Both 10% Skill Damage

It's obviously run on the Demolitionist Specialization. The 2 Skills that I use are the Sticky Bomb & the Cluster Seekers. I use the Harmony rifle for an easy additional 40% damage as well.

So, you're getting +15% from Chyna, +10% from Wyvern, +15% from Hardwired, +10% from Demolitionist, +40% from Harmony, +25% from Glass Cannon, +25% from tech support, and +10% from the 4 piece bonus of Hardwired as well.....

Besides, my sticky hits HARD and fast, with no setup or stationary required. It tops out at over 9 million damage, averages 7.5 million. The seekers top out at 6.3 million damage and averages 4.7 million. Plus the Hardwired loop allows you to triple stack these monster damage dealers in a combo every 20 seconds as well.
Oh, I do have a question about the Sticky Bomb that you're mentioning. Are you talking about the Burn variant or the Explosive variant? I must confess that the Sticky Bomb skill has not been on my radar, but I just tried out the Burn variant in the shooting range. That thing is amazing!! I matchmake a lot in missions and have been noticing players applying the burn status effect to a bunch of enemies without any visible fire. I couldn't figure out how they were doing that, but now I'm thinking they are using the Burn Sticky and maybe not detonating it (???).

For my boom-boom build, I use the explosive sticky. Now, when I run my CC build, I use the burn bomb & the airburst.

Someone had also asked in the thread about the screen shaking from explosions. I haven't noticed the sticky bomb or the clusters causing any kind of screen shake....just the damn artillery. And it's true that you will have way more shots with an artillery turret than the sticky. I just refuse to crap all over my teams by running it. I sure as hell hate getting stuck in groups with people using it due to the idiotic screen convulsions.

I looked into it a bit, and sure enough there's no option to turn off screen shake. Which is unusual in a shooter.

What's more unusual is that this one explosive ability causes so much screen shake, while almost no other explosive does.

Having said that, if you're solo you can generate A LOT of specialization ammo with the mortar. I was cleaning up the Hollywood event on the final night, amd basically almost never had to use a regular weapon. Just exploding everything.

Not sure if the game was giving extra spec ammo due to the event or what.

For a status effect and damage skill build the Airburst seeker is the way to go. The effects last for ages. I tried in the shooting range (not ideal) because the NPCs don't stand still in game.

I put it on very hard, threw my seeker out and it took out all the 5 or six yellows, spread to a target far right where the damage self button is, then to a target in the middle and back to the 5 targets and took their armor again. Lethal with 4 piece EP if you can use it. I swapped out 10% weapon damage gloves for 15% status effects and I can't tell too much difference in damage loss if any because the status effect lasts longer.

Forgot to add I am using technician and often get 40% extra damage by shooting an NPC and I use another gun with overcharge on kill.
