And I appreciate you for keeping those chungas off of my back while I toss a nasty hive in the path of the approaching hoard. We will listen to them scream and swatt at heir heads and I will hit the flanker sneaking up to shoot you in the back while you are focused on the heavy. It's a beautiful thing, team work.Originally Posted by RavennesVR Go to original post
My agent is about SHD level 700 and my gear is nearly maxed - still needing that perfect Wyvern chest piece. Running the Technician Specialization (+1 skill tier), Acosta's Go Bag, 2 Wyvern, 2 HanaU, and 1 Fenris - everything rolled to skill damage, skill haste. FAMAS 2010 - maxed with In Sync and Harmony rifle with Perfectly In Sync - using a skill or skill damage procs damage buff, hitting an enemy procs damage buff - both buffs active doubles the buff.
I have been gearing myself up to move into the heroic level of missions. I wanted to run District Union and wasn't finding anyone playing at the challenging difficulty so I bumped it up to heroic and quickly found a group... except it was two agents, both SHD sub-100, one already dead at the entrance. I threw my hive out and took cover, but it wasn't long before we were over run and I was down. I waited and waited to be revived... nothing. While checking out the asphalt behind my cover spot, I the Inspected the Agent's I'd jumped in with and bailed immediately. Not sure what they expected to happen and I am pretty sure they never got past the entrance of that mission.
On a separate note, I think the Bullet King is fantastic, but continuously suppressing the only enemy left from a block away is totally useless. Put that damn gun down and run over and shoot that guy! Or get out of the way so I can!
look, if you wish to directly insult me with the "YOUR THAT PLAYER" please just leave the threadOriginally Posted by ElBiggus Go to original post
I repeat I DON'T MEAN TO INSULT, i simply have very poor experiences with heroics lately and it is putting me off to matchmake ever again,
I understand people enjoy some builds but. don't take a half arsed low dps build that doesn't work into Heroic 4 man and expect to be carried.
i've already been explained along this thread on what basicly is the cause of it. and it simply is that those players don't meet up to the difficulty standards and rely on this so called Youtuber builds and blindly think they can do heroic by just copying this.
this is what i ment regarding "far above their difficulty" specialy when i see a lvl 5 player on legendary suddenly with 3 pieces of Purple.
i don't mind helping people out, i do this for my entire clan regardless, i even teach them how to do the iron horse, along with various builds required.
non the less we can just leave this thread alone, i already got my knowledge thanks to various people on the turret build and the player mentality on em.
And this has helped me see the way they play in a different light, i did 1 run today and found 1 person who was really good with his turret and drone, not to mention his dps overal was nice as it was a hybrid. the other person who joined was just rubish... and slowed the entire run down by doing next to no dps. (overal target he targeted didn't die)
so clearly i just found the wrong players with matchmaking and from now on i'll be able to learn from experience
I get stuck with new guys all the time on heroic - they are always running directives that they are not ready for and they are all using rifles because it has the big damage number. The one shot wonders are no threat to the enemy and as you know they hammer on the guy doing all the damage I have been slaughtered because of it - if I see new guys doing heroics and they all are using rifles I drop out. Don't get me wrong rifle builds are great but you have to know how to shoot it. These guys have no DPS and they are shooting guys in the leg or chest instead of head shots.
We just need to accept that not everyone is as good as others. There are people that take longer before they get an idea how the game works (or should say not). If you know the weak points (not spots) of the AI every mission becomes rather easy because the AI is just stupid as hell. I have played most of the missions many times and when you know what comes next you can anticipate on it. Other times you need to setup the turret (as mentioned) in a tactical position so the whole team benefits. And this can also mean I am not shooting at them but trying to get into that position so I can place the turret. Been using it since day one and must say, turret is your best friend. It keeps AI busy (and focused on it) while at the same time creates a barrier they won't pass quickly. But it is best used for cross firing at AI so they don't have much cover to their disposal. Strike drone is very effective when AI tends to camp in safe spots where players can hit them, either by shooting or throwing grenades, but haven't use it that much, prefer healing drone myself and not having to use (time consuming) armor packs.
I am also not sure if the statistics you see at the end of each mission are actually correct. Don't look into them a lot because I simply don't trust any of it. So for me it isn't a good reference of how players perform. And besides this, some tactical maneuvers aren't covered by it and in many cases this can determine how the missions are won. If you don't like how others play, just leave the group and find another one. Don't expect other players to play exactly as you please, if just won't happen.
Had many experiences with this in TD1 were some players don't just do missions but they have some sort of an awkward plan, and if you don't stick to it, you're the bad apple. Even when you're killing most of the adversaries you encounter during the mission. I'd be happy to leave when I know I am doing activities with these kind of players, just let them play in their own bubbles. In many cases they will find out the hard way how to complete missions quick and efficiently.

Thus I never had any kind of build until after TU8. But RNG is another topic. So either, yes, the players are looking for more challenging missions or they need to do something different to enable them to get better gear to make a build.
Yup, just like the DPS builds where plenty of players come into Heroics & Legendary & perform poorly.
The reality though is we are at another rare moment in this games life where well crafted skill builds are just as efficient as well crafted dps skill. So yes that does translate to legendaries, you can run a high damage turret + a-hive on legendary solo on district union.
Unlike the host, when I play legendaries or heroics & use either my drone + a-hive or turret + a-hive, it's the dps players I'm matched with that can't do s*** to enemies compared to me. So I'm on the reverse spectrum of experiences, seeing useless dps shooter builds more & more on harder operations.
It's hysterical at mission results seeing teammates with like 1000 million damage & 40 kills, meanwhile I'm recorded with like 10 million damage & 90 kills.
I understand you want to shoot, no problem with that but don't look down on the damage dealt by skill players. My build sits at 250k for the turret and 140k for the drone. Both at 1200 RPM. Both makes NPC focus in the deployed skills, allowing me to shoot them, making even more damage. Skill Damage Builds are as good as DPS for dealing damage, mate don't forget.
