    bad experience matchmaking Heroic/legendary content

this is not regarding how difficult or bugs and such,

but why on earth is every god forsaken player using Turret drone builds in Heroic missions,
they make my life as a DPS or healer a pain in the ***, litteraly 0 dps from them people because whatever their stuff targets is dead cause of me before it can shoot

is there some kind of youtuber forcing people to use this?

Haven’t played in a while. But I still sub to one channel to see whats going on. There was a buff to skill builds. And yes, it has been explained and promoted. I guess the silly rabbits think it translates to legendary. /And even if it does, I doubt the ones you played with were optimized or have the gamer IQ to be good. I guess “ legendary needs a nerf”. Lol

I run a 4 piece tip of the spear with 2 piece alps summit tech spec. with assault turret and fixer drone. rolling future perfect on a mk17 rifle. and i do a dam sight more than zero dps. i can push my turret from skill tier 3 upto 6 and even overcharge it. which requires doing decent levels of dps on my mk17 in order to actually kill things to proc and maintain the talent. the 40% weapon buff from tip of the spears aggressive recon helps alot here..but it's by no means a weak build.

What i do find myself though is that yes alot of people seem to use turrets at the moment but they really suck at placing them. often quite literally just throw it on the floor in front of them where it has literally no line of sight on anything... but a well placed turret can dish out a lot of damage and also draw alot of fire away from you which means you can do more damage as well...

in a way its the same thing you see with seeker mines. people just drop them and let them roll out to the bad guys and wonder why the bad guys always dodge them. they see the bloody things coming.... if they threw the seekers out behind them the bad guys tend not to avoid them because they dont see them if theyre looking at you... and you can actually throw the seekers hella far.

that sounds more reasonable in terms of damage, these guys we seem to get are basicly 800million DPS (me) 54million (them) this is just pure and utter carry... if you can pull off proper dps, distract AI with turrets or even suppress or overal assist me, then it will be fine. but these guys throw their turret and hide at the spawn door (because AI don't rush through doors apparently) and it just upsets me, i was forced to run eclipse to spawn kill AI because there was next to no damage being dealt

(EDIT) i also noticed a fair amount of New players (super low lvl with blue/purple gear) jumping into Heroic wanting to be carried. not sure what to think of this to be honest, or is it because lower difficulties playerbase are dead? anyone encountered this ?

I've been using the Assault Turret/Striker Drone build since well before gear 2.0 was brought up and it was a murder machine back then. Recent updates have made the combo ever better and I've made the build my primary go to setup. I haven't tried a Legendary mission with it but the build does go through Solo Heroic missions like a hot knife through butter. Turret placement is an acquired skill and the more you use it the better you'll get. My plan is to put it up high with a good field of fire out of reach of the NPCs whenever possible. As for Seeker Mines, yes throwing the thing behind the NPCs will increase your hit rate. But there is one Seeker you can't throw at the enemy that's seeing more playtime with the Eclipse Protocol gear set. The Airburst Seeker Mine, with its fire AOE effect, has to be dropped at your feet and targeted manually and can't be thrown.

One other thing. If you're basing the damage a skill player does by the end of mission screen, don't. That has never calculated skill damage correctly. There have been times where I've gone through a mission where my Turret and Drone did the vast majority of damage and the end of mission screen had zero skill damage done. The only thing I use that for is seeing what my hit percentage was for the mission.

Turrets or the drone is the only option given to players to keep the in sync weapon talent active 100% of the time. It gives players 30% weapon and skill damage. You see a lot of red builds using this combo because it increases weapon damage by so much it’s kind of hard to pass up.

Also, there is some bug with turrets it will not always fire at the target the player instructs it to fire at. Even if the turret is placed in a good position. Some times it will just target npc turrets and those npc track drones and lock on to them nonstop, and you can’t get it to target any other npc.

turret is not used for damage but for passive cc, since the enemy targets it instead of you

Well if you consider a Turret putting 290k damage hits consistently on NPCs CC and not damage then we'll have to agree to disagree.

    This^

The turret is the best tank in the game right now and it has the dps to match.

Build it and find out. If you do it correctly you'll see that it's a pretty strong build. Do it incorrectly or use it badly and I'd imagine it would be the same as any badly built and poorly utilised build.
