Unbearable performance (while being fine a year ago)

    Hey!

After I played it shortly after it was released, I now decided to give it another run. But to my surprise my performance is consistently below 40fps.
Absolutely doesn't matter what settings. Everything(!) set to LOW or OFF, even reducing resolution scale to 0.5. Looks like relics from my ancestors, yet performs the same as with HIGH preset.

I tried the newest drivers and the ones I had when I last played it (got an archive exactly for that reason) and one in between: No change.
Tried every idea I found online: No change.
Using ProcessLasso (also tried disabling it) for maximum performance, disabled all Overlays (MSI, Uplay, my own)...no change too. Not in the slightest.

I was having no performance-problems back then. It wasn't perfect but it was a steady 60+ FPS on medium/high.

Did the game receive an update which screwed something up?

Got an I7-4770K, a GTX980 and a Creative X7. Not the freshest, but does it for most games. EVERYTHING else runs perfectly fine withing expect-able boundaries. Even Division2 (so it's no uplay-problem).

Same OS (Win10Pro) and hardware since my last playthrough, this is really annoying and sad.

    Any ideas?

I have not yet a solution. Ubisoft-support was completly useless (as expected).
