Read a few replies, playes builds that make heroics easy are skill builds and you have to sit behind cover hiding mostly letting skills do the work, they should be their to support and you should be able to take a few shots and then put on armour but survivability is terrible.
Armour needs to take half the time to put on and health needs to be doubled and be stronger.
Div 1 you had a chance to hide and re armour and have built that you could take a few shots, even have builds where health on kill allowed you to have some decent gun builds.
This game is all about skills not guns now.

Considering virtually all weapons got significant buffs, i'd say guns/weapons are more viable now than they've ever been.
Trouble is everyone goes down the glass cannon/unstoppable route, or Obliterate/composure.
Yet there are other pairings of talents out there that on a red build gives you bonus armour and also gives you 35% extra weapon damage, more than perfect glass cannon (but without the negatives of taking 60% damage) it gives you a plius in armour and weapon damage.
You can also use them on half red half blue and kill like crazy with high armour.
Yup. The damage output of a Negotiators Dilemma set is excellent. Tag, tag, tag and let it rip.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
I am not going to defend the devs. In a lot of ways they have screwed up time after time.Originally Posted by xXThEoLdGoAtXx. Go to original post
However, I'm also not going to sit here while people spout hate and falsehoods because they either don't understand the game, or are just angry because they failed a mission.
I've been there. I'm sure everyone has at one point one another. It's actually ok to get angry at the game. But I have to call out this stuff because it's wrong.
There are lots of good and strong builds. Even some builds that were nerfed are still very strong, especially in light of weapon buffs and new talents alongside NPC nerfs.
As for broken gear...maybe you should name a piece for context instead of ranting. And no, having an attribute on a piece of gear adjusted to fit into the overall balance of the game doesn't count as "broken" just because it's slightly less OP.
People have defeated heroic, before the nerfs to NPCs, with only unmodded purple gear. You do not need 100% god rolls on every piece of gear to be effective. And a slight nerf or change to a set or exotic doesn't in any way break it.
Maybe you should calm down and explain where you're having issues with detail. That way people might help you instead of dismissing it as just an angry rage rant.
Skills are very strong right now. But the M1A all red build is still a monster. Headhunter builds are very good in the right hands. My personal build(SMG Negotiators) rips through heroic +4 faster than ever.Originally Posted by Grouchybeast Go to original post
I'll grant that skill builds have a lower barrier to entry. They're easier to use for beginners and offer a lot of power with less investment in many cases. But that doesn't invalidate gun build, which still are top contenders for best times and most DPS.
The deciding factor is not the build, but the player using it. Git gud.
To be honest i think it's half and half.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
I'm beginning to think people do not know how to make builds or know how to pair talents and experiment, most just run to youtube watch the latest (so called meta/popular) build and think thats it.
I have a red build which many will look at and go thats crap, yet i can wreck NPC's in Challenging and Heroic (no green gear sets/no pairings of brands/No foxes prayer/Contractors gloves either) each of the 6 pieces are individual.
Weapons' Chameleon at 100K damage/Police UMP-45 at 160K damage, and thats without any crits proccing or talents on guns and gear proccing, no admittedly i'd like to change one or two pieces but it didn't take long to put together and is powerful as heck (especially with the chest/backpack talents going off)
As a side note my Chameleon goes upto 135K damage and my UMP-45 goes upto 216K damage once the talents have procced.(without crits)
I can also swap out for a single Badger tuff recal to red and have a Spas 12 shotgun at 1.5+ million damage.
I mean...sure. A VERY good build can take you pretty far, and act as a crutch. I think that's a trap that a LOT of players fall into. They become so reliant upon a certain build, that they never actually learn how to be good at the game. . This is where a lot of the complaints about gear drops come from: People thinking that if they only get that one perfect drop their build will get stronger and they'll be able to progress....and completely missing that if they just worked on the basics of playing the game, they'd get a lot further.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
It's a tough pill to swallow. Having to maybe turn down the difficulty, back up, and basically re-learn and re-examine your entire approach to the game isn't easy. I know because I did it myself while the M1A meta was in full swing. I took away my crutch and had to completely change the way I played. But I'm so much better at the game now it's almost unrecognizable. It also added A LOT of additional playstyles and enjoyment to the game that I'd never explored.
Mayority do struggle im not however but i see more people struggling when doing randoms either open world or missions most the time people are struggling within my Gameplay experience And i end up carrying people most the time especially on heroic world tbh
I rarely ask for back up for actual help most the the time its because im lonely agent and just want company
And yup more “randoms” people
struggle more then thrive.
