As Chris pointed out, the design of the game itself makes it extremely difficult, if not completely impossible to turn Breakpoint around. However, I do hope this entire failure will reflect on future installments of the franchise in case they don't pull the plug entirely.

Even with the gunsmith update leaving a lot to be desired it is still another minor nudge in the correct direction, away from the division lite mechanics.

I can only hope that these events help to restore a sense of peace within the organization so people feel safe going to work, while also putting leaders in place who can inspire individual dev teams to thrive in the uniqueness of their respective titles.

I've started playing with a friend again and the immersive mode was much needed but AI snipers are still aimbots regardless of foliage and distance. The respawning after you die can be up to 1km off-mission really needs a fix asap. The 'woke' NPCs just ask to be shot so I don't have to listen to their inane mumblings. The story and interactions are still the worst in any triple-A title of recent years but Ubisoft still command prices comparable to RDR2 where you get a small fraction of the aforementioned gameplay and effort. Seasonal content like Div2 is again nothing more than a cash grab for extremely little effort on behalf of the devs.

Thank god for Horizon Zero Dawn next month on PC so I can finally taste a title worthy of the asking price from real developers that understand good gaming equals great profits without the scams and grabs.

Ubisoft is currently at an all-time low in my expectations for the future so these titles coming up better be something above and beyond seasonal online loot grinding garbage.

And you won't be disappointed, and although I have my gripes with that game as far as some aspects of the story go, it's an expertly crafted gorgeous, and fun experience.

Caveat, I have never had an issue with the base concept of the game.

Can it be turned around? Depends on what you mean by this. Financially for UBISoft, highly doubtful.

Game play wise? Again doubtful the core bones of the game is an arcade shooter. Further reinforced by slider difficulties. I'm guessing they are going for more of a tactical shooter feel with AI team mates. If it's implemented on top of the arcade shooter mechanics, I'm not seeing any one being particular enthused by that. I say this only knowing that AI team mates are coming and no discussion about core mechanics.

I've seen it mentioned but I'll only speak from my perspective. This game needs about 100+ hours of in depth story content (that makes sense) that has unique tactical challenges if that's the way they are heading. Perhaps then a relaunch and maybe they grab some people. I see no hype or talk beyond mocking about this title in any discord / reddit and other social media platforms.

They added the much anticipated "immersion mode" and to me it just muddled an already wayward title. I have a ton of hours in this game and every new content update makes me want to play it less and less.
